Definitely spent a lot of time researching this part of our trip. We took the ferry from La Paz to Mazatlan. We were unable to get a cabin online. However MAKE SURE you purchase a cabin at the reception once the ship has started its departure. Its a small cut out of your wallet, and worth every penny. The 4... More

Recently, we needed to get from Mazatlán to Cabo San Lucas and decided to take the ferry instead of flying. I found it a little difficult to book as I wanted a cabin and couldn't seem to get one online when I was trying to book. I called the number on the website, but had a bit of difficulty as... More

We were traveling from La Paz to Topolobampo. They told us we had to be there 2 hrs before the ferry was scheduled to leave, so we did. By the way, we had one dog, 2 cats and a baby with us. Around 1:30 pm (1 hour before the scheduled departing time) they started loading the big trucks onto the... More

We have travelled on this ferry a few times. If you have animals it is inhumane how they are treated. Your pet must be in a cage and then they are put up on the outside deck in blazing heat and you are not. Allowed to go out to give them water not can they leave the cage to go... More

To be honest I had large expectations about this experience maybe because I believed it was going to be like being on a cruise...sorry but let me tell you that is not a cruise, it's a ferry. First of all, the Aduana in Topolobampo is a mess (old and unconfortable building), the ship regularly departs late, eventhough I think it... More

If you are up to the adventure you must take this ferry watching the trucks load it is very impressive. Service is not that good, but if you are a relaxed tourist and choose a good and expensier área to do the trip is totally worth it.

That was a very surprising good experience... very affordable and comfortable. We took the ferry in La Paz and traveled to Topolobampo, Sin. We took our car so it was so convenient... great experience. We leave on time, food is provided with your ticket, they have a bar (very noisy) elevators, awesome views at the decks..... very good experience

We've taken the ferry several times (and will again in the evening). The route from La Paz to Mazatlan is a long one, at about 14 hours. This ferry is old and beat up but the cabins are OK and Baja Ferries does a great job getting everyone on and off. You'll get the Aduana hassle in La Paz and... More

Very clean - staff very helpful. Lovely just standing up on deck with the blue sky and wind blowing through hair. Thought the 6 hour journey to El Fuerte would be such a drag but when the music started it was such good fun. Had a nice meal all in all the time went by so quickly - magic.

The ferry trip was actually better than we expected. Right now, only the La Paz Star is operating between Mazatlan and La Paz. It is the truck ferry. The ship was old and unappealing to look at. We were told to arrive at the ferry dock three hours before the departure time but trucks and people were arriving at 4... More
