If you are up to the adventure you must take this ferry watching the trucks load it is very impressive. Service is not that good, but if you are a relaxed tourist and choose a good and expensier área to do the trip is totally worth it.

That was a very surprising good experience... very affordable and comfortable. We took the ferry in La Paz and traveled to Topolobampo, Sin. We took our car so it was so convenient... great experience. We leave on time, food is provided with your ticket, they have a bar (very noisy) elevators, awesome views at the decks..... very good experience

We've taken the ferry several times (and will again in the evening). The route from La Paz to Mazatlan is a long one, at about 14 hours. This ferry is old and beat up but the cabins are OK and Baja Ferries does a great job getting everyone on and off. You'll get the Aduana hassle in La Paz and... More

Very clean - staff very helpful. Lovely just standing up on deck with the blue sky and wind blowing through hair. Thought the 6 hour journey to El Fuerte would be such a drag but when the music started it was such good fun. Had a nice meal all in all the time went by so quickly - magic.

The ferry trip was actually better than we expected. Right now, only the La Paz Star is operating between Mazatlan and La Paz. It is the truck ferry. The ship was old and unappealing to look at. We were told to arrive at the ferry dock three hours before the departure time but trucks and people were arriving at 4... More

There were so many bad things about the ferry I'll try to just summarize the top 3. First, the departure time we were given was completely inaccurate. We were told to be at the ferry terminal several hours before a 2am departure (not sure why). After arriving at 10.30pm and waiting for a couple of hours we were told the... More

We had read a 2010 review of the ferry between Mazatlan and La Paz and it sounded ok. A quaint way to spend a night at sea to get where we wanted to go. Apparently, between 2010 and 2014 things changed A LOT. HORRIBLE. Crowded, dirty. We couldn't get a cabin, but from what we saw of them, they were... More

long (16hr) ferry journey, and quite expensive for Mexico. Worth getting a cabin if you want to sleep (4 beds, quite spacious, with private bathroom and towels provided) Evening meal and breakfast included in the price.

$300 usd for 2 people in bunk beds and a motorcycle, AHOY! It's a low end Mexican Carnival Cruise, with edible meals and can beer or soda, that's it. The Nachos were actually not bad. Since it;s a monopoly, shut up and enjoy the ride!

Nice over night slow boat across the gulf. Sleeper and coach options - travelers can mill about a couple of decks during the voyage. The bus ride on the peninsula was also slow due to security stops every two hours.
