My wife & I have just returned from a week's live-aboard trip on Baja Expedition's catamaran. We had always wanted to swim with whale sharks & boy we weren't disappointed. Carlos (our captain) was fantastic at handling the boat & ensuring we got some great sights of all types of marine life. We ended up swimming with whale sharks, sperm... More

I and 7 friends went to the San Ignacio Lagoon (on the Pacific Ocean side of Baja California) with Baja Expeditions in February 2014 for 4 days to experience with the gray whales that migrate here from Alaska to have their babies. Baja Expeditions was FABULOUS. Everyone was welcoming, warm and very informed. Baja Expeditions founder, Tim Means, has been... More

I went to see the whale sharks with my parents and children. This was the perfect set up. Reasonable prices, nothing fancy and most important to me-focused on the educational and conservationist aspect of Eco tourism. Our guide was Roxana who has focused her studies on the whale shark and was a treasure trove of knowledge. I would recommend this outfit... More

It's too late for this year (2014) but this is an experience to put on your 'bucket' list! From mid-Jan to mid-April each year, grey whales use the warm safe lagoons of the Baja Peninsula to rest and, in the case of pregnant females, to give birth, before migrating northwards along the west coast of America to their feeding grounds... We stayed at San Ignacio lagoon for 2 nights and had 5 life changing trips out to see the grey whales; we did not get lucky enough for a touching encounter but we really did not mind as we saw so many and they are so awesome in their natural habitat it was just a great experience to see them.... This was the best day of our recent la Paz visit. Baja expeditions has been around for awhile and really knows what and where to see. Our guide, Hugo, was excellent and knowledgeable. We visited a lovely beach on the east side of the island before heading up to swim with the sea lions. The sea lions were there and... More

We booked a whale watching trip through Baja Expeditions in San Ignacio for the San Ignacio Lagoon for the next day, a Sunday at 9 am. We were required to pay in advance. We were to be picked up at our accommodation and taken by Fischer Transportadora Turistica to the Lagoon. Although we were sitting outside our accommodation waiting at... More

Had a great trip with Baja Expeditions but unless you are scuba diving, only stay 2 days. 3 will be too much. Expect great food by the chefs, but don't expect to be able to swim with the sea lions more than 30 minutes. Don't expect to be able to swim with the whale sharks either. You might see them... More

We just returned from a wonderful 3 night charter with Baja Expeditions. Our family of five, three young adults and two older adults had an experience we will remember forever. For four days we sailed around Isla Espiritu Santo in a private four cabin catamaran. Josefa prepared the most amazing food, fresh ceviche, seafood stew with octopus, carnitas, grilled freshly... Given the conditions we experienced we were not able to take advantage of all the diving near La Paz, but I would definitely recommend Baja Expeditions. The boats were the typical, somewhat awkward pangas so common in Mexico, but the Captains and Divemaster were well above the typical skill we have encountered. We dove what the conditions allowed, most memorable... More
