Sounds like a book or a movie, but thats what is know by, by most of the locals who live in La Paz. It is located as you drive North out of town on the way to the airport. It used to be white, now a brown color, maybe to match the dust in the area. And now of all... More

Still looks like a whale's tail to me, but it is distinctly La Paz! Without the monument there would be far fewer La Paz t-shirts to sell...

I think it should be painted white as it was previously though...It truly does represent all that LaPaz is...Peace with the Dove and the whale tail combination... Perhaps it could be in a better location but it is an impending piece that everyone sees when they are driving and... More

The monument itself is awesome. The problem is where they put it. It is smack in the middle of the sewage plant area and always smells of raw sewage there. So sad.

Two plaques, bilingual, on the twin towers give a brief history lesson, although they leave out the Mexican Government attempt to wipe out the church in Mexico.

A perfect way to be greeted to the fair city of La Paz. And a perfect symbol for a peaceful, welcoming place to live. It always gives me a thrill to see it as we drive in on Mexico 1 from San Diego.

This monument was designed by a local artist (whose name now escapes me), who was employed as a graphic designer for the Department of Public Health. It is known locally as "La Cola de la Ballena," because, although it... More
