Landed at Tecolote Beach from Espiritu Santo

We kayaked across from Espiritu Santo, and landed at this beach. It seemed nice, though we didn't spend a lot of time there.

We happened upon this spot by accident, just taking a drive from La Paz one morning. There was a fairly large restaurant right at the end of the road but we turned right and found a smaller spot with the tables right on the beach. The ceviche was excellent and the fish tacos the best we found in Baja. And... More

We left from Tecolote for the Espiritu Santo sea lion trip and were glad to have done so, since it shortened the time in the boat (versus starting from La Paz) and also gave us time to explore the beach. Both ends have interesting rock formations to browse, and there are a couple of on-the-beach restaurants if you want a... More

We visited Tecolote several time during our week in La Paz. This is a family beach with several clam shacks. We highly recommend Restaurant La Concha, at the far right as you drive up to the beach. We were looking for a shady spot to park our stuff, and a really nice guy calling himself "Big Nose" came up and... More

Only spent a couple hours there but great beach for swimming even though its a little rocky first few feet in the water. You can see Isla Espiritu from this beach. Quite a few places to stop & have a cerveza or cocktail with food. Definetely worth spending an afternoon here.

Located on the Canal de San Lorenzo, this beautiful, long, white sand beach offers everything a beachcomber could want. From the cold beer at the cafe to the snorkeling at the point, a day at Tecolote will be unforgettable. When we're not out cruising the islands in our sailboat, this is where the Admiral and I go for our beach... More

In addition to the beautiful beach, the facility on the beach that served margaritas were some of the best we drank while in Mexico.

This expansive, white sand beach is a great place to relax. Rocky headlands at each end are potential good locations for snorkeling, but it was a bit windy the day we were there. I've heard there can be good shore fishing but didn't have any luck. Other than the palapas, there's not much in the way of shade, so be... More

Chocolate clams are infamous in the La Paz area. They're huge - and not really chocolate, more of a pink color. Eat them as ceviche or stuffed & barbecued with fresh tomatoes & onions. If they're out, sometimes someone will get a mask and go get more right there from the sea. You can get wild on this beach or... More
