If you like calm, turquoise water, you will love El Tecolote. It costs about 200 pesos by taxi to get out there, but the taxi driver will come back for you at whatever time you say. There are a couple of outdoor bar, restaurants, where you can sit in the shade and have a drink. There was very little current,... More

Spent the day at Playa Balandra a few kilometres before Playa Tecolote, we drove over to have a quick drink/snack at Tecolote before heading back to La Paz. We enjoyed some nice margaritas and chips/guacomole, came to 385 Pesos for 2 huge (strong) margaritas and a nice dish of fresh guacomole served by a very handsome barkeep. Strong breeze and... More

Great place very rustic, nice people, food can be good. I like it out there. It's safe and pretty, close to Ballandra. Bring your own cooler. Spend some money on shrimp tacos. Buy a t shirt, ( playera) from the little guy with no teeth.

Nice spot for lunch and cerveza! overlooking the Sea of Cortez and Isla Espiritu Santa, the beach is also lovely but can get a bit windy.

If you like family beaches, then this is it for La Paz. Situated opposite the offshore islands, it is THE play ground for locals. Half a dozen very nice restaurants as well.

We visited from Todos Santos and it took us about 1.5 hours to get to Tecolote which is the last beach you can reach. White sandy beach and water was very warm, almost NO waves at all. Great to swim and you could rent beach chairs and umbrellas and buy food and drinks.

This is one of the beaches at the northernmost point of the La Paz peninsula. It has a nice open air restaurant and rental equipment of all types, Kayaks, Jet skis, unbrellas, chairs . . . The beach is very nice and perfect for swimming. Good for a couple hours. It was 250 pesos each way in a cab (08/30/14).

Have been to Tecolote several times and just love it. if you go during the week you just might be one of the very few people there. Saturdays are a little more crowded but Sunday it can get very crowded. Very long beach and the water is great for swimming and snorkeling.

We just returned from Cabo San Lucas and La Paz. La Paz definitely beats Cabo in terms of beaches. Unfortunately, we visited Balandra first which was simply beautiful. This beach did not compare. We found the water and view beautiful, but the beach was extremely dirty. There was trash everywhere and the sand was extremely rocky - we never even... More

For a quiet long beautiful beach this is it!. The beach is long and faces Isla Espiritu Santo. There are restaurants that are quite good but expect touristic prices. The water is clear and you can see tons of fishes just looking at the water from land. Beautiful site!
