Pichelingue is a popular beach a few miles to the north of La Paz. There are more beautiful beaches further to the north like Balandra and it can get busy at the weekends. However, none of the others have such a marvellous restaurant right on the beach almost in the water! I would say it is defintely not the cheapest restaurant... More

Pichilingue has a real cool name. But the beach, in the context of the much better beaches nearby, is not a big deal. Shallow water, narrow strip of sand, they are okay; but across the bay is the ferry landing, uglying up the place. Just a few kilometers up the road are Balandra and Tecolote beaches, much, much better. So... More

We went there by private yacht. Our captain ordered several dishes to share. The food was excellent.

I almost hate to review this as I don't want it over run by tourists but it really is a beautiful drive and beautiful beaches. Water is bath-warm and pristine. There's nothing I don't love about Mexican culture so it's going to be a luv-review.

We were told to go to the restaurant there to eat the Chocolata clams, so that's what we did. The beach did not look enticing at all, although it was chilly that day. Just not my style.

Sitting under the new palapa with our feet in the sand we enjoyed a lovely serving of seafood ceviche, with a nice glass of cool beer. It was perfect.

Water is a deep, turquoise blue and green. There is only one very good restaurant, try the clams. A good place to relax.

Pichilingue is not the prettiest beach, but we enjoyed an afternoon kayaking there. There is a rocky outcropping on the right that has a small but colorful reef with plenty of fish. Uncrowded and pleasant.
