Birth place of the Margarita!

Beautiful architecture. Absolutely magnificent to be where the stars from the 30s hung out, apparently Al Capone was a regular here. We had a margarita at Bar Andaluz, it was... read more

The building and grounds are beautiful. We read that you could take a tour and were told a guide would be there in 20 minutes. Meanwhile we were given a brochure with a history of the peace and done pictures. No guide ever showed up. To be fair we were there on a week-day and there were no cruise ships... More

This is a great tour. The inside is beautiful and the history attached to it is awesome. It once sat on the edge of the ocean but now they have build up land in front of it. It was very interesting to learn about the celebs who visited and that the start of the margarita was there.

This site is worth visiting as it has a rich history and a vibrant present. Be sure you hire a guide to show you the hidden secret passageways that celebrities of the Golden Age used when visiting special friends (and keeping it secret). You'll get free samples of margaritas, beer and coke (made with real sugar). The guide will tell... More

I don't know why this is not recommended to everyone getting off the cruise ships as one of the best spots to wander during time ashore! In fact, I have seen people ask what there is to see and the Museo and Cultural Center are not even mentioned. Only a 15 minute walk from Mercado Negro, the Museum is small... More

Its a shame that this building isn't more well known and frequented. It is a stunning 1930's structure with amazing meeting and banquet rooms, the type that are so rare in a very recent, modern city. The history is fascinating, and the period architecture if beautiful. If you are looking for a way to spend 30 - 60 minutes being... More

Nice old Spanish building were Margarita was born! Nice place to visit and have a drink. Definitely take time to walk around inside and out, you'll find a cute little area.

This is an old resort/casino from the 1930's which was frequented by Al Capone. From the outside it looks really stunning. The inside needs help. The courtyard is filled with traders selling "Mexican" arts and crafts. Lets just say I saw boxes with Made in China written on them. Not so good then, a bit of a let down.

I think there is a museum, we did not go in. We saw some random outdoor mariachi performance, then some random indoor Mexican Folk dance. Their website has no information on any of these activities. It was a draw of luck. The facility is quite a tranquil place to spend a good 20 minutes to walk around.

Its really quite a site. Built for parting and gambling for the Hollywood elite. The details and craftsmanship are very impressive. They don't build them like this any more. A must see.
