Within the last few months I've travelled a fair distance to the Sun for a variety of functions: an author talk in a downstairs room, a preview of new episodes of a TV series, and a documentary-style movie. Lately, too, the Sun's proprietors have gone all out to acquire specialist equipment for showing a Tarantino film in 70mm. The Sun... More

I love the Sun Theatre- it is an icon. Been there for movies, community events, premiers and it never fails me, except for the one time they ran out of choc tops on New Years Eve 2016, I will not hold it against them as long as they make sure to NEVER run out again- see you soon!

The Sun Theatre has become one of the most trendy cinemas in the west. It shows the most up to date movies and has probably the most comfortable seats. Watch the James Bond movie "Spectre" in total comfort. They have great offers Monday and Tuesdays.

The Sun is an integral part of the Yarraville community for good reason. Not only is it a stunning example of an Art Deco cinema with well selected popular and independent movie, it also has a strong political bent that works to highlight important local issues in a good humoured and non preachy way. The comfy small cinemas with squishy... More

We went to a morning session at this lovely Art Deco cinema... The theatres are a good size (not huge) & well maintained...They have couples seating so was perfect place for a 'date'... Highly recommend this venue if you want to enjoy an outing to 'the movies' in a cinema with class...

The old Sun theatre has gone from the one screen to now have 6 or so theatres. The revamping of this icon is great. Each theatre named after a theatre in the area that has closed down. Each theatre is various sizes. Reminds me of my younger days

Favorite cinema in the whole of Victoria. Love each quirky cinema particularly like the cinemas with comfortable couches. Great atmosphere. Best coconut ice cream. ....love that you can have a glass of wine as you watch a movie.

Had not been to the Sun Theatre since I was a kid, so many memories, it has changed but, for the better, met friend at one of the many cafes in Yarraville before the movie, the area around the Theatre is alive and buzzing with local families. Thoroughly enjoyed the movie, seating very comfortable, which is most important when getting... More
