Highly recommended for those who want to learn thai cooking. I had such an informative lesson right from the basics. Madam Ya is really friendly and an amazing teacher. She even taught us to adjust variations in the recipes and gave us her email address to contact her in case we needed new recipes and advise.

Ya our teacher has an incredible background and a one in a kind personality. The class is dynamic and didactic and Ya and his amazing staff will be always there really attentive and supportive. You will take knowledge about Thai food home, some food and a full belly to go as well. Incredible experience that you can not miss.

Anyone visiting Krabi, whether interested in cooking or not should try this class. Chef Ya is interesting, funny and really makes you feel welcome. The recipe options are great and the results are fantastic. You will leave stuffed. Ya is also happy to make the recipes vegetarian/vegan friendly.

Me and my fiancé went to Ya's cooking class and had a great time, where we learnt a lot and ate delicious food at the end of the lesson. At the beginning we sat down while se told us about the local ingredients, then she asked us what we wanted to cook. Everybody shared their favourite dishes and then the... More

When me and my friend were talking to this lovely man selling trips and excursion in Ao Nang, and he introduced us to Krabi Thai Cookery School, we got really excited. This is Krabi’s first Thai cookery school, which attracted over the years many students and apparently Gordon Ramsey as well! We opted out for the evening session and we... More

This turned out to be a great way to spend an afternoon. Ya and her staff were brilliant- knowledgeable and fun. The day is well organised and I will definitely be trying to recreate some of the dishes at home. Hopefully they will be same same but different!

April 24th, 2015. What an excellent afternoon! Am travelling thailand solo and would highly recommend this to anybody else travelling solo. Ms Ya made me feel very welcomed, ensure we were all introduced and new what country we were from. Told us about herself and some very funny jokes about her life experiences. She taught us to cook 12 dishes... More

My family loved the cooking and eating. They found Chef Ya to be wonderful, patient, and articulate. The place is very hard to find, so they are used to picking up students. If you like to go on your own, don't entrust your smartphone with the address. Google is wrong on half the addresses in the area. For actual location... More

Cholaya “Ya” Laothong’s Thai cookery school is hidden away in a leafy suburb behind touristy Ao Nang, and her school is adjacent to her house, in a large open pavilion. Ya introduces herself to us in our work area of shiny stainless steel worktops and wok burners. She recounts her life experiences, some of which are extraordinary, and her warm... More

Myself, my friend and 3 of our kids took this class. It was great! Ya is interesting and informative. I learned so much, We were picked up at our hotel and driven to the school. It is an outdoor covered kitchen with tons of work space. We started with curry pastes from scratch-so much fun. You get to take home... More
