We went on a tour with Discovery tour to see Hong islands. Our first stop was to a lagoon which was just a short 10 minute drive around the small lagoon with just a chance to snap a photo, so it wasn't too impressive. The next stop was at a strip of beach(can't rmb the name), which wasn't particularly impressive... More

Once in Krabi area (I was in Ao Nang) you have 3 main choices when it comes to islands near by. The closest to land is 4 Islands tour (expect to pay around 500-700 baht for slower boats), Hong Island (up to 1000 baht) and Koh Phi Phi (around 1200). All of them are highly recommended, crystal clear water and... More

Took the long tail boat from Nong Thale for half a day to Hong Island. It’s very nice BUT go early it gets packed and as more and more visitors from PRC come to Krabi that won’t change. The tideline is very stony with many sharp coral shards and stones bring some swim type shoes. While on the subject bring,... More

This is a great island to visit when you are in krabi. You can engage a private tour and we spend around 2 hours in this island itself. Among all the nearby islands we visit, this is the best with better sand beach and more fishes around when we snookering. The beach was net fence up as well. A long... More

The scenery is absolutely amazing! Unfortunately many people know that and the place can get really crowded. We hired a private long-tail boat from AoNang, got there earlier than most people and we were able to enjoy the island before the crowd started to pour in (around 12 as I recall). We headed to the next island on the list... More

If you are going to visit Phuket Island there is no escape of visiting Hong Islands, it is a perfect place for canoeing and seeing some friendly monkeys at the beach, a perfect place for honeymooners like us, and would come as part of Phangnga bay island "James Bond Island" ferry or speed boat trip, a Thailand must see

They had beautiful reefs but most of them is destroit and tge water isn't clear as the tourists standing on the corals. It's very sad that tourguides and organisations don't tell anytime the custoumers that it's forbidden to stand or touch the reef. I woukdn't recommend this tour. The yellow "mountains" are very beautiful.

If you want to see the couple of untouched (relatively) beaches in this area, try Koh Hong and the surrounding. We made a fantastic kayak tour, the water is crystal clear and transparent. They have some hidden lagoons here, simple amazing. Don't expect so many fishes.. We made several tours the surrounding islands like Pak Bia and Lading and so... More
