Surfer's paradise

A wonderful beach with spectacular Atlantic rollers and unique rock formations. Not ideal for families and the lack of cafes and dining outlets a disadvantage.

Visited Bathsheba beach on the East coast at the start of April and it was covered in seaweed. IRS not a beach you can swim at anyway, as the tides are dangerous, but it is usually beautiful to walk along. The seaweed, where it has dried, looks like shades of spices, it doesn't smell too bad, but if you are... More

Have visited Bathsheba a few times and love the rugged coastline which is a complete contrast to where we stay on the west coast. Very disappointed this year as the whole beach and rock pools are covered with seaweed which prevented a walk through the pools. I realise this is a nature problem but to preserve an area which is... Wrong time of year I guess.....no part of the beach was visible entirely covered in seaweed but the rock formations were incredible and would have been stunning to photograph with the white topped waves crashing into them. The seaweed had been there for a while as it was different colours and there was a bad odor in some spots.

Completely different from the west coast, watch the atlantic ocean rush in on to a large sandy beach, with large rock outcrops, a superb wild beach. Caution though not for swimming here, although small rock pools form and these are safe to bath or paddle in.

Love this place, the sands are quite different, the rocks near the beach are very beautiful. But, isn't a good place to eat!

Unspoilt beach, but strong currents. Excellent for surfers and walkers. Good local cafes. Very uncrowded

This part of the wild Atlantic Coast is stunning and beautiful. Normally it is also peaceful and quiet, it is then at it's best and you can wander along a stretch and find it idyllic. If you arrive in the late morning however, you will arrive at the same time as several buses and many taxis all doing a round... More

What a lovely beach! Waves coming in and hitting the rocks, mist forming above them, and the sound of it all. So pretty and relaxing. Palm trees were blowing in the wind as we looked around. The only thing missing were the hammocks! I could have stayed all day and enjoyed it. This beach is not for swimming and warnings... More

We went on a day-long excursion where we hired Big Apple to take my husband and I around the island. This was one of the stops that we had and I found the views to be breathtaking. It's a great place to get postcard views of the water framed by several palm trees. It's going to make a great Christmas... More
