Despite being signed off the old A77 through Newton Mearns, don't be fooled by thinking it's "just round the corner". Still a fair old way up hill and down dale by car before you reach your destination. Worth the trek though, although be sure to wear "sensible" shoes as the ground is susceptible to the wet climate of the area,... More

A lovely quiet and peaceful gardens surrounded by woodland. A great place to go for a quiet walk or even to read a book on a nice warm day. Well worth a visit.

This NTS garden on the south side of Glasgow is a lovely peaceful quiet spot. The gardens are really well looked after and offer a range of secluded areas around each corner. There is a nice coffee shop and you can buy a range of plants in the courtyard. The car park is not very big and can fill up... More

NTS gardens. fairly small but well cultivated and great for an afternoon stroll and a look at the mansion house - not open to visitors. Food is limited to soup and roll or sandwich. great coffee and scones. Small shop. Not a place for a whole-day visit but very pleasant and peaceful.

This is a glorious small National Trust garden surrounded by woodland and fields on the edge of Glasgow's very attractive southside suburbs - a 30min trip by car from the city centre.Public transport wouldn't be so handy though is possible. In August, the herbaceous borders and maze-like planted areas were just stunning.Beautifully kept.Nice walks through the woodland outwith the garden.A great... Greenbank Gardens is a place of peace and tranquility. The gardens are split into numerous separate areas, each with their own character. The centerpiece is a hidden pool with the striking “foam” sculpture which is in the centre of some gentle water jets (This sculpture was first shown at the Empire Exhibition in Bellahouston Park Glasgow in 1938). It takes... More

We spent the afternoon at the Greenbank Garden and what a pleasant surprise we had. There were so many different varieties of flowers and plants all beautifully laid out in sections all hedged off and lots of paths to explore. There was also a tea room where refreshments could be had and a NTS shop to browse. They had various... More

If you fancy a nice cup of tea in cheerful surroundings then this is the place for you. When you have finished your tea you can walk freely around the very spacious and well kept gardens of the large Mansionhouse. At Christmas time they have a Christmas Fayre where they sell a lot of unusual cards and goodies.

One of our favourite small walled gardens and always something going on and so so peaceful a place. We go every time we are in the area and whatever the time of year. Check out the house too when you can.
