Our daughter surprised us with a flight to Glasgow and told us that we must drive to this castle. She told us that we had a plot of land and gave us the paperwork and the titles. It was a really beautiful place and a nice feeling knowing that we would help to restore this castle in the future. As... More

brother bought my husband and i an honorary Laird and Lady title for the castle , so decided to make the trip to view our 1 foot square of land. the selling of the titles is to renovate the castle and is purely obviously not a title in the real sense (for those who do not read the small print!)... We bought a Laird & Lady of Chaol Ghleann title as we loved the idea of restoring a castle & being a small part of it. When we arranged our holiday in Scotland visiting Dunan's Castle was a 'must do'. Making the arrangements for our chosen date was easy thanks to Colin. Despite being in the middle of nowhere the... This is a great place to visit, right off the beaten track. Well worth it! Be sure to check opening hours as it is privately owned.

It was much... More

Visited because our son was given a Laird-ship to the castle (a unique fundraising method). The castle itself is on the B List, but the bridge on the property was built by Telford, so it is A List, and they need to restore it in order to be able to then restore the castle.

A really interesting walk round a sadly gutted gothic style Victorian Castle (fire). Some of the biggest trees in Britain and an impressive gorge with Telford Bridge
