The musuem was hosted in the oldest building in the island , over 15o years old. It was originally the jail , and the governor's office. It was restored in 1992, for the quincentennial of the discvovery, from an italian resident, who got italian funds, and was changed in a museum about the Discovery of Christopher Columbus.
