The park itself is really neat and the beach there is great for a quick swim if you rode your bike there and need to cool off. Beautiful beach plus a small monument to commemorate Christopher Columbus landfall but not much else to see or do.

We stopped here for a picnic lunch on a few occasions during our stay and it is always a lovely experience. The beach here is gorgeous and there are picnic tables and plenty of shade trees. There is even an Olympic torch stop from the Mexico games which makes for a cool (and confusing) photo op.

San Salvador is reputedly where Columbus first made landfall in the Americas. There are three different monuments around the island commerating his first steps onto the island.

It is a suqare place, by the sea, where Admiral Morrison, the great scholar of Columbus, decided to erect a monument. It is a white cross, which has been unfortunatly obscured by a quiork cross offered by Bacardi for the 1992 celebrations of the Duiscovery of the new World.
