Nice water ferry for going to town

Nice ferry ride. Mostly on time. $6.00 round trip, not too bad. We took it every day for lunch or for dinner. Also shopping at the straw market.

This is one of the few things on the island that actually runs on time. Depending on the "driver", there is music or mini tour guide info while you take the short jaunt from Pelican Bay Hotel to Taino Beach.

It used to be an expensive cab ride from Taino Beach Resort to Port Lucaya, but the Taino ferry boat has solved that problem. It's only $3 round trip to take the ferry, so we were able to enjoy going to the Port Lucaya Marketplace every day during our stay, sometimes twice a day.

Quick way to Taino Beach from Port Lucayan (walking took about 30 minutes). Only downside is it only runs once an hour each way.

This water taxi, Taino Beach Ferry is so handy. Getting to the square where the action is for bars, restaurants, straw market shopping. We highly recommend this when you want to travel from hotel to local shopping. Best of all, three years ago, on this ferry is where i met my honey. Relaxing Bahamas, terrific drinks, beautiful women and i... More

My husband and I stayed at a hotel on the Taino side and would use this ferry to get to the marketplace. The ferry itself is great and the rides were fun, however the system isn't very good. Some people would pay for the tickets and other people wouldn't. We were awfully confused by this especially since we would always... More

the ferry ride was the best part of going over to tanio beach. the schedule wasn't always on time but you are in the Bahamas so it's expected. we were happy that it was free with the hotel otherwise it would have been a waste of $6 each! the captain is very nice :)
