We stayed for seven nights at Pelican Bay Hotel and visited the marketplace pretty much everyday. We saw a fashion show, heard live music but the best part of the square is people watching. We were entertained for at least half an hour one night watching children dance. There some very talented girls that evening. Lots of fun.

The shows that occur at the square are really advertisements for the shops nearby. You won't find authentic Bahaman music or fashion here. You'll only find people trying to advertise their products to you. If you want real Bahaman music, travel to a different island.

The square was very clean, and very safe, well lite in the night. Was a great place to gather for a drink, and people watch. Shopping was good, but the little yellow shack was the best place to get conk salad, or a cock fritters. Straw market was ok, allowed to browse with very little pressure to buy

This was our second trip to Freeport and to the Marketplace and Count Baise Sq, wow! What a fun time! We absolutely love the bands, great DJ and so fourth. If you plan on going to Freeport this attraction is a must, and the Bahama Mama & Rum Punch drinks are simply amazing!

We loved Count Basie Square in Port Lucaya. They have a DJ on the weekends that you can dance to. During the week, they play music, so if you're a dance fanatic like my husband and I are, you can dance every night in the square. There are many open-air bars surrounding the square in case you work up a... More

3 minute walk from Memories Hotel. Good entertainment for tips. Touristy shopping in and around the Square, but a good way to walk off calories. Bathrooms available but sketchy.

Great place to go in the evenings for a stroll. Lots to eat, drink and see there. Its a fun place. This is where everyone hangs out during the day and evening.

We were in Freeport for 2 weeks and visited the square multiple times including Saturday night and we never heard any live music. Even worse they played a loop of recorded generic steel drum music that was almost unbearable after 15 minutes. The area was dirty and any time we were there there was nothing going on. We were disappointed... More
