This is a great place to experience the culture. Children are safe to run around and dance and play while entertainers sing. Of an evening it gets more crowded and more adult. Take kiddos home after 10:00

We had conch fritters and drinks at a couple of the places in the square - good food, reasonable - and what a view! Lots of options for picky foods if you don't want a full meal

We were staying on the Grand Bahamas Is. at the Grand Lucayan Resort for a week and took three strolls across the street to see the many shops. This is where Dianne's Snorkeling two boats moore. Easy to find in centre of court near water and wharfs and a must to go snorkeling by them. The centre of the mall... More

Friday night we enjoyed their sounds while eating dinner at a nearby restaurant and Saturday night we sat in the square for the first set, to which we danced numerous times. It was hot, sweaty fun and thoroughly enjoyable as you get a nice mix of local... More

The performances were OK but they lacked life. They'll probably improve with attendance. Tourism is low on the island and that affects everything.

The music and shopping at Count Basie Square was great. The bands which play every Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night was great. They mostly played the old 60's and 70's music from the US. It was fun dancing to that music. It was something we looked forward to each of the nights. We would recommend this to anyone... More
