This was a stop of our cruise, it is colorful and nice, many stores were closed so could not see much of it. There were other 2 cruises leaving, I guess locals sold enough lol. Still good spot to do a little walk. On the good side note, I had to use public restroom and was very clean!!!

Live music in the marketplace. This is a fun place to experience tourists and locals mixing it up. Kids love the dancing. Mostly live music with local musicians.

Never seemed to be anything happening here when we went through! I thought there would be local musicians and entertainment especially in the summer!

They have music in the square at night. It was kind of fun to eat dinner and then walk to the square and relax and have drinks while listening to the local sounds.

Great place for the kids in the early evening, they can dance and run around while the music is playing. But later on in the evening it gets pretty busy especially during spring break. Situated in the centre of the straw market and the restaurants, you can easily get some food and drinks.

A lot of the ads stated there would be music every night, various types, etc. I only saw music on a friday night. The shops around were okay, basic island shopping. Some decent restaurants.

After debarking our cruise ship, we had an hour or so to kill before heading out on our excursion. We strolled out to Count Basie Square and found a seat to listen to the local band... wonderful. I did want to try the local delicacy, Conch, and asked around which kiosk had the best. I was directed to Robinson's Seafood... More

This is a great place to experience the culture. Children are safe to run around and dance and play while entertainers sing. Of an evening it gets more crowded and more adult. Take kiddos home after 10:00

We had conch fritters and drinks at a couple of the places in the square - good food, reasonable - and what a view! Lots of options for picky foods if you don't want a full meal

We were staying on the Grand Bahamas Is. at the Grand Lucayan Resort for a week and took three strolls across the street to see the many shops. This is where Dianne's Snorkeling two boats moore. Easy to find in centre of court near water and wharfs and a must to go snorkeling by them. The centre of the mall... More
