we rented a car and found the signs for Barbary beach but wound up at a dead end which was awful...we retraced our route and saw that there were many little inlets you could drive into...found one that had another car there and the people told us they wound up at the same dead end and decided to hang where...

We were driving back from the National Park and followed the signs to Barbary Beach. To our delight, we were the only ones there not counting some herons and other shore birds. It was low tide and the beach is pristine & expansive. We saw a beautiful live milk conch--which in 20 years of visits, I have never seen before!...

It was absolutely stunning. I went with a group after our snorkeling tour. At the time we went it was deserted so we were the only ones on the beach. So pristine and private.

The beach is very beautiful and the water is extremely shallow in certain areas. It is a great place to just relax and enjoy yourself. However, if you are going with a tour bus make sure you stay away from the restaurant. They are ridiculously slow. It took over twenty minutes for our drinks to arrive. Our tour bus was...

We have been to Freeport twice on a cruise ship. The first time we ended up just shopping and not seeing the island. This time, we had a rental car company pick us up, please remember they are on island time, so don't expect them to be there at 8:00. Your p/u time is going to be 9 or after---ask....
