We found it by pulling off on an opening in the trees, with a small gravel area. The area before the beach was dirty and rough (broken... More

secluded, away from the beaten path. Miles of magnificent sand and magical blue waters. A beach comber and nature buff's paradise. Not enough good signage to get you there.

This is known as a local place to visit. There were only 2 other people on the entire beach but they were so far away we couldn't really see any details of them.

We did not feel safe at all here. We drove for awhile and commented on how everything leading to the beach was desolate. We turned into one of the parking areas which is enough for 2 cars. There was trash and broken glass all over. This was the same at other parking spots. We stayed long enough to take pictures.... More

I came here on Rico's Party Boat which worked out because we really wanted to check this place out but were worried that it was so secluded. We didn't want to risk getting robbed or car broken into. The beach is really nice, I didn't see any trash on the beach as others have said. The water is nice and... More

The water is very beautiful and not at all deep near the shore and kids were able to play nicely. Sand is gorgeous and neat. Trees from a hurricane swept ashore helped change our clothes . not crowded at all. We took a bus where the driver is aware of the place well. Beware - If you are driving by... More

I have been coming to GBI for 17 years and have been to Barbary Beach many many times. Unfortunately, going out there has become increasingly risky. Tourist's cars and tourists themselves have become targets of robbers. Just earlier this week, my rental car, parked out of sight of the road, was broken in to by means of smashing a window....
