I thought the trip out to the reef was fascinating and safe. I was a little worried about sea sickness but I got my sea legs once we were at the reef. I enjoyed watching the fish and the water was fantastic!

We try to be selective with our choice of dive operators while on vacation. However, this time our choice was only average (at best). We ended up spending a lot of time at the dock listening to stories – instead of motoring to the dive site. Our 2-tank morning dive typically ran well into the afternoon, mostly because of wasted... Interesting people with lots of experience in the area, good knowledge of local conditions and ecosystems. Small boat so you are not diving with a herd, but they have a head. They know the area and gave us two good dives. We came in on a cruise so we only did one morning 2 tank, but they still made a... More

I was very impressed with this family owned local dive company. I spoke with Melinda via email two weeks before I arrived on the island as part of a cruise, and she helped me plan the time for my dives and even asked me what I wanted to see. I told her sharks and it was granted. We dove the... More

Fred and Melinda Riger are Grand Bahama Scuba. We dove with them in December 2013. I appreciate the following aspects... 1. When we were scheduled to dive with them in November, they cancelled because of bad weather; they prioritize safety over money. 2. They have a dive boat with functional head. 3. They are very knowledgeable about sites. 4. They... More

This is a small dive operation owned by Fred and Melinda Riger. I visited for a week in November 2013, and called ahead (recommended, especially if the weather is iffy that week) to see what days they would be going out. I am PADI certified but only dove inland in lakes for a year and a half as I am... More

I cannot say enough positive things about GB Scuba! Fred was my instructor for my open water dive certification and he helped me feel confident and develop my skills. I always felt safe and the dive sites are incredible. Not a crowded boat ( 9 divers) and everyone was friendly and mutually supportive. I can't wait to return, the sooner... More

The dive sites were pretty good, but this dive operator is substandard. We were never asked for our certification cards to prove we were qualified to use scuba. Even though all passengers were on board the boat, Fred (one of the owners) kept us at the dock for half an hour talking about his pet peeves: DAN and their guidelines... More

I ended up going on 4 different dives. Melinda and Fred are incredibly knowledgeable, they spend the time to explain each dive, they have excellent gear ready for the dive when you get there, they are totally concerned about safety and about a great experience with each dive, and they are really personable. If you want to experience diving in... More

Reviewed March 8, 2013 I recertified and my son certified this past week with Fred and Melinda, and had a wonderful time. We did a deep wreck and deep reef dives and a great shallow dive, watched as the reef sharks swam by. You can certify on a weeks vacation. Don't wait,,,DO IT!!
