Great place for souvenir shopping. Prices start out high and you can negotiate down. It can feel uncomfortable to go back and forth and after awhile the shopping can become tedious. Many of the stores have the same items. It is a nice break to stop for ice cream, a bite of food or a cool drink. Best to go... More

Was in Grand Bahamas for 5 days & visited this marketplace every day, just either shopping or for something to eat/drink. There are a few jeweller shops I visited them all & they cover every price range from cheaper pieces to quite expensive pieces, they all seem to have up a 'sale' sign discounts of 40 - 50% I don't... We decided to go to port lucaya when we got off our cruise ship and it was a mistake. The shops right off the ship are exactly the same and you don't have to go through the trouble of paying for a ride. However, directly across from the marketplace is a resort that charges $15 a person for a resort... More

Convenient area across from the Grand Lucayan and Memories. They have a duty free stores, and other shops. Also many restaurants so if you stay across the street you just walk across enjoy the type of food you are in the mood for. On one side they have the open market with the ladies that sell their bahamian goods.

Great marketplace ... very safe, lively at night and full of quaint shops, bars and restaurants. It backs up to the marina which is stunning at sunset. There are also some grocery type stores if you're staying nearby and need any snacks, etc.

Food and drinks were good. Cute duty free shopping. Any women's haven. if you want to be hassled (where u can also bargain prices) straw huts are for you. Typical island stuff but the guy who makes the walking sticks has some cool handmade wood carving creativeness. Overall the luckyan marketplace is a great place to wanders around and shop... More

There were a lot of different shops and restaurants. There were a lot of straw market vendors with touristy type souveniers. The shops closed fairly early, around 5:30 every night and opened at 11 am. The vendors at the straw market were there even when the shops were't open. We vistied 3 restaurants in the market and all were very... More

Port Lucaya Marketplace was crowded and hot the day I walked around it. I didn't have any cash, so I didn't haggle or show too much interest in the wares, but everything looked pretty and well made. The prices were a little higher than I was expecting, but it seemed like they were more than willing to find a "good... More
