We spent our honeymoon in the Xanadu nearly 25 years ago (and the building was pretty desolate and in disrepair back then, although our suite was very nice and comfortable), but we were really hoping to spend our 25 year anniversary there and are very very sad to see it's closed. Wish someone would buy it and re-open - it's... More

Was really sad to see that the "Xanadu" itself had closed & their beach & facilities were in disrepair! We have fond memories of the place when it was busy and happening!! But, the beach outside of the resort is still beautiful and large. We noticed it was mainly locals & there was one little lady selling her hand made... More

Xanadu Beach resort is now closed. The beach is open to the public and there is parking there for the short walk. This is one of the prettiest beaches on the island.

There's absolutely NOTHING going on at Xanadu Beach. Just another example of an unsustainable project. Such a shame.

We were staying nearby across the channel and swam over for a look see. The last time we did that (10 years ago) the Xanadu was open but struggling. Now the hotel is closed and this should be named glass beach. Nothing here, too bad we don't have 49 million to purchase this spot!

This beach is gorgeous, and almost deserted. We found an old lifeguard chair and played photographer for quite a while. There are sea shells everywhere on this beach, and the sand is like baby powder. Just watch out for the stray piles of dog poo!

Went there one day and only three more people on the beach. Too bad, it's a very nice beach. Maybe Freeport should recycle.
