The beach is gorgeous, the sand is nice and clean, but on the days that the cruise ships are in port, the beach vendors come swooping in like sharks, and they don't leave you alone. I stayed at a local resort about 10 years ago they would bus us to Xanadu beach. I thought the beach was very pretty. The place was a little run down but the water was beautiful. I was went on vaction 5 times to the Bahamas and went to the Xanadu beach each time. more

We spent 6 days at Xanadu Resrt in Freeport Bahamas,from Christmas thur New Years. We had no hot water for 5 of the 6 days there, no room service 2 days and had to locate towels from laundry .Management was unreponsive to our daily complaints .I would not recommend this resort to anyone more

We stayed at the Royal Islander and took the free bus to Xanadu Beach. Upon arriving we were greated by two ladies trying to sell use stuff for more then the International Bazaar.
