loved the solitude and how private and pristine it was. the reef is on the far side of the cay so don't just stay in front of it or by the side closest to the main part of freeport. we found three conch shells underwater and took one of them with us. it was empty and huge. going back again... We drove the boat over early in the day...docked right on the beach (which in hindsight was a mistake!!!). Small beach on one side and rocky with birds nesting on the other. Lots of hermit crabs...we snorkeled...not alot to see but did spot a turtle a few times. After snorkeling we found the tide had gone out and left us... More

We stopped here as the turn around point on our Jet ski tour from Lucaya Water Sports. the next time do that tour, i am bringing my snorkeling gear to explore the reef. this place doesn't get many visitors so you may be the only one out there when you visit.

Beautiful beach! It is tiny, but the water is so clear w visible reefs below. We visited here on a jet ski tour. Our visit was short, but long enough for how small this cay is.

Semi-challenging kayak trip with my wife (anyone can do it) to this small cay over the most pristine water you will ever see. Then we donned our snorkel gear and swam the reef that encircles the entire island. Tell your guide to take you out to the big reef to see bigger fish and some friendly sharks (if your lucky,... I have visited Peterson Cay twice and it is always a great day. You can swim and snorkel out to the reef, have lunch and drinks. A great day, not to be missed!!!

It od course depends on what you're looking for - but Peterson Cay is a wonderful small island with a small beach that is very pretty to visit. There were interesting shells aplenty, nesting birds (we may have been there at an opportunistic time of course), and a small pretty beach. If you drop anchor more than 10 yards from... More

I really like snorkeling to see coral and sea life. There really wasn't that much to see. It was fun just swimming off the Kat and testing how far I could swim so early in the seaon.

From all the reviews we read before hand this was the best place for snorkeling so it was a must on our to do list. We hired a boat to take us there as this was our 2nd snorkeling event for this trip. I don't know if we didn't time it right or what but fish were far and few... More

We took the bahama breeze on a fishing trip and after a coupe, in our group got seasick the captain dropped us off here. It was awesome. Unfortunately we had no shade. Bring a small umbrella and this place is awesome. Snorkeling a Is average
