I was in the Virgins this past March and was advised by another dive operator that Sawyers is out of business. There was discussion about a new buyer that would operate on St THomas but the St John operation was being handled by other operators.

I have dove (dived?) with Chris Sawyer several times over the past 12 years and each time is better than the previous. Chris and his people make the entire experience wonderful. The divemaster even told me - "Why are you working so hard? You are on vacation, let me do that." When I first dove with Chris, his shop was... More

My husband is a certified diver but I am not. Always I was doing something alone while he was diving. Acutally I had tried scuba diving before in mexico and had a bad experience. Since then, I didn't want to try diving again. Chris Sawyer offers Introduction course for FREE!!!! They do the lesson from the beach which made me... More

My boyfriend and I went diving through the Chris Sawyer dive shop and had a great time. If I were to go back to St.Thomas, I would definetly go to them again to go diving.

Me and my Wife just returned from St. John after a week's visit. Prior to going, I researched all the dive shops on the island and Chris Sawyer came up consistently as one of the best dive operations on the island. As we were travelling right before Hurricane Dean was passing by, I contacted several dive shops regarding conditions and... More

This place sucks. I would go to the ritz's dive shop, patagonia or patagon. They are really cool and flexable, and don't act all put out like the chris sawyer place does. Sawyer seems as if they are at their wits end when you ask them questions, and they seem like they only want to accomidate people who know anything... More

My husband and I booked a two tank dive with Chris Sawyer for our stop over in St. Thomas on a Carnival Cruise. We had done dives inthe past with the cruise lines but wanted to use an outside one this time. We dove with Chris and Perry and they were fantastic. I was a little apprehensive, being that I... We rented diving equipment from them to do a beach dive from Coki Beach and they were so amazingly helpful and went out of their way to make our diving experience enjoyable. I recommend them highly!

Since 1994 to the present year my wife and I have spent our two or three week vacation in St. Thomas. We meet Chris Sawyer the first year that we arrived their from a cruise we where on. He was a very friendly person who made us feel like we were part of a family and not out-siders. He instructed... More
