Good snorkeling at this beach! In order to see the "good stuff" you must swim out past the white buoys about 150 yd away from sand.. This location you'll spot turtles! We saw 2 green turtles in this spot. Swim to the right past the rocky edge connecting to Francis Bay and you will see colorful fish, sharks and maybe... More

easy parking and good access to beach. Places to sit under the trees to provide shade and some privacy.

A great place for snorkelers you walk in from a sandy beach and you a greeted by lots of things to see. There were numerous green sea turtles feeding here. (Please don't touch them, they are endangered, in fact all sea turtles are). Lots of coral, snorkel off to the right of the beach, lots of tropical fish. Warm waters,... More

Maho beach is a perfect place to swim. It has the softest sand, and a very slow slope to deeper water. There is sea grass out a ways and early morning or late afternoon you are almost sure to spot a turtle or two. So fun to swim with them!

If you're looking for civilized beaches with lifeguards and concession stands, this may not be for you, but this beach is the VI National Park at its best - a gorgeous bay full of wildlife. The parking lot was full, but there were places to pull off the road (in the shade) just past the lot. The section of beach... More

We visited Maho Beach about 5 of the 9 days we were in St John. It was our family's favorite of all the beaches. We would typically arrive around 9:30-10am and could park right in front. This beach isn't deep and it's right along the road, which as having two little kids was a perk for us. On breezy days,... More

This is 1 of the top 2 beaches I have ever been to. The top is Francis Bay about a mile away from this one.

This is a wonderful beach for learning how to snorkel and relaxing in the water. It was our first beach on St John and we really enjoyed it. Plenty of trees to sit under.

Beautiful beach - not terribly crowded - crystal clear water and did not need to snorkel to see lots of fish and even a lemon shark who was swimming laps.
