Short ride. The fast boat (catamaran) takes 10 minutes and the mono hull takes 18 to 20 minutes. $4.00 per luggage and $7.00 per person. Nice beginning and ending to a St John Vacation

The way to get from Red Hook to Cruz Bay, St. John - Just a 20 minute ride and only $7 one way. Cash only. Some of the ferries are newer and in better shape than others. The ferries are punctual and run every hour from early morning to late night. Sorry I forgot the exact hours ; ( Lines... More

We rented a car for our weeklong stay in St Thomas. We found out we could take it to St John on the car ferry and thereby avoid taxi fees there. It was a great bargain and adventure! The round trip fee for the ferry was $50 for the car and all the passengers were free. It was a real... More

A fast and inexpensive way to travel between St Thomas and St. John but that's about it. The boats differ by operator - some are new and modern while others are old and clunky. The service is prompt but not exactly cordial and they don't accept credit cards. Get there early as the lines are long.

The ferry to St Johns runs every hour. You pay around 7.00 and board the ferry for a 20 minute ride to St Johns. You can sit on top and be outside or underneath and sit inside. It was gorgeous to sit outside. Very smooth ride very easy. Across the street in Red Hook are restaurants and a grocery You... More

Sorry,I know it is the only way to go, but NO ONE was friendly, quite rude actually. No credit cards taken for tickets, no, instructions, they try to get you to pay them to put our bags on the ferry which is not necessary and everyone is grouchy. It was a tough way to start the vacation.

Great way to get to get to St John. Inexpensive, hourly service, parking is $10/day in Red Hook, taxis are abundant and waiting in St John to take you to Trunk Bay or any other beautiful beach you want to go. ($6/person).

This is straight forward: The ferry runs on time between Red Hook and Cruz Bay. The price was I believe $14 round trip. The trip takes 15 minutes and the service runs hourly, on the hour most of the day. There are plenty of taxis on both ends. If you are heading from Red Hook, St. Thomas on to St.... More
