It's a little out of the way, so, it's less crowded. It's really nice with a fairly wide beach for St. John and awesome water. Wish I could have spent more time there.

Smaller beach with parking. Good path to see unique crab life and ruins. Liked how unique it was andn o beaches crowded.

This beach is the furthest beach from Cruz Bay - but worth the journey! Ample parking right on the beach (ideal for bringing beach chairs, cool boxes!) Good for families as well as water is so calm and clear. Its a long stretch of beach, so is fairly uncrowded. There are also a few little beaches (including Little Maho) you... More

Great snorkeling and convenient parking. Beautiful setting to spend the day. Not very crowded. Gorgeous St John at its best.

This beach had the best snorkeling we experienced during our week vacation over New Years 2015. We swam along the rocky shore to Maho Beach. The water was just teaming with life. There were so many varieties of fish and large schools of small fish swimming all around you. We even saw a sea turtle. Just amazing. It also was... More

We chose this beach after Christmas winds pounded other North Shore beaches like Cinammon Bay with fairly large waves. Francis Bay is sheltered from Northeast winds present during the winter months. The beach is sandy, great for swimming and snorkeling. We also saw more turtles and rays at this beach than any other on our trip. They were most prevalent... More

We decided to go to Francis Bay on the recommendation of a local tour guide. We had a rental car and the drive was not far from Trunk Bay. You will hit an initial paved parking lot and then a half mile mostly gravel road to the beach. Park anywhere in between. A jeep would be best, as the road... More

Breathtakingly beautiful beach. Water is so calm and clear. Pelicans are plentiful and so amazing to watch. Iguanas sit right under the trees and watch the swimmers! LOVED IT!

On a recent business trip to scout the snorkeling beaches on St. John, I decided to start my adventures on this far North Shore beach (the island is so small that "far" really isn't very far at all). What an awesome treat! Nowhere else on the island did I see fish as big and abundant as they were at Francis... More
