This beach isn't close to the resorts or town which makes it extra special. Head to the Sugar Mill Ruins and after a little bit of a dirt road (if you rent a Jeep it is no problem) park and a few steps away the path opens up to a long stretch of beach and beautiful blue water. We snorkeled... More

I was In Francis Bay during a day when the cruise we were making in the Caribean sea stopped for a visit and it was raining. Therefore, it was quite disappointing visiting St. John under the rain. Unhappily the water was not that blue, it was grey. This means, that I have to return to confirm ir that blue is... More

Nice secluded beach. We took a picnic and some noodles to float in the water. Don't forget your snorkeling gear! The turtles nest in the area and you can watch them swimming in the bay.

this is by far our most popular beach. the water is usually calm and great for snorkeling and SUP. Great for swimming and snorkeling with the turtles . The beach area has both shady and sunny areas, which is excellent. if some prefer sun and others shade. Parking is a problem unless you arrive very early or park just outside... More

Hiked late afternoon to Francis - saw a deer in the woods on the way! Beautiful snorkel, swam with a turtle - no mosquitos!

St. John consistantly is selected as having one or more of the best beaches in the world. It's a little amusing how many have made one list or another. You truly can't go wrong. There are at least a dozen world class beaches on the island. All without the crowds of the mainland.

Been there twice and never had to share the beach with more than a couple of other visitors. Wooded surroundings, rock outcroppings, crystalline waters and a beautiful view of St. Thomas in the distance. Go early in the day. Visit the nearby ruins of the Annenburg sugar plantation and if you have a vehicle drive up to Mt. Bordeaux and... More

but worth a visit. Great snorkeling but there are no facilities. If you're in Cruz Bay, it's bit of a drive so take a picnic!

This beach is awesome and my favorite. Great sand and easy entry to snorkeling areas. Plenty of marine life including turtles, stingrays and many other reef fish. Barracuda, tarpon and parrot fish are abundant and great to observe. Great beach, don't miss it. Go to the Annaberg ruins, at the split in the road go left and travel to the... More

Well some people that were staying near us suggested Francis, so we went. I have never seen millions of bait fish like this all in one place ever in my life. It was ridiculous. Actually, it scared me. Big fish eat bait fish, so in order to avoid sending the wrong impression I exited the water. We did see tarpon... More
