This is well worth the bumpy ride to get down to the parking. It's lots less populated. The beach is very wide and offers a good view of a large bay. Bugs were an issue in April, 2014 so be sure and pack lots of spray, apply and reapply. But don't miss it.

There is a nice sandy beach with shade to sit on. Some picnic tables are available. No crowds, nice snorleling.

Francis Bay is a beautiful beach and it has some shade. The road into the beach is a bit rough, pot holes, but worth the bouncing. We always visit this beach when we come to St John. This day there was a surge going on so the waves were a bit high and a little rougher then usual. Snorkeling wasn't... More

In the week we spent on St. John, we visited 6 different beaches and St. Francis was my favorite. We went in early afternoon and as the early risers were leaving we procured the BEST spot on the far right of the beach. It was private, plenty of sun and shade. It was close to the rocks where the snorkeling... More

Not too crowded and a great beach to snorkel and picnic at. Many people brought their paddle boards here. Many boats were in the bay which made it nice to look at too. Parking is easy and there are no fees.

A very peaceful, relaxing beach. Last Park beach on the North Shore. Road in is a wreck, so you better have a jeep, but the beach is sandy, there's lots of shade and the water doesn't drop off quickly. Snorkeling is so-so, but there is a good chance to see a sea turtle or 2 in the area.

Because of the shelter Mary's point offers from the prevailing winds the beach here is almost always free of rough water. The snorkeling is not that great but you can go left past the now deserted little Maho bay and continue to Maho proper with good fish populations among the rock outcroppings at the points.

The beach is lovely, great snorkeling and the water is special. The parking and the road to the beach is an embarrassment and not safe. This is mostly true everywhere on St. John, but the trip is worth it. Be sure to have a Jeep.

Our favorite beach in St John, it is pristine and perfectly clear waters to see angel fish, sting rays, barracudas. There are low trees along the beach for shade and parking on the roadway in. It is not usually crowded.

Francis Bay is a beautiful beach, that offers great snorkeling along the rocky shoreline along the right side of the beach. Francis also offers a large space for sun lovers, shade trees for you when you get more than enough sun, picnic tables for a packed lunch and bathroom facilities. The view is amazing! We saw stingrays gliding through the... More
