Go to the end of the road, drive past the parking and slowly negotiate the last 150 yards (roller coaster anyone) and then walk out to the best protected and most stress reducing beach on the Islands. Stunning western views, small (if at all) wave action and ridiculous amounts of fish, Rays and Pelicans. Lots of small rocks at edge... More

This was a beautiful beach! We didn't have a jeep so we had to walk down to the beach (about .2 miles...no big deal). The whole north shore part of the island was having a high, rough surf issue, but Francis Bay still had sand to sit on and pretty calm waters. It was beautiful. Blue green water that felt... More

FISH FISH and more FISH!! If you love to snorkel this is the place. We were not even in the water yet and a baby Stingray floated past. Best place to snorkel. Big beach.

This beach is very near and dear to heart. I have visited there many times, some times more memorable than others. A part of my soul still exists there, fortuitously so!

Francis is OK. It's not real hard to get to, provided you have a jeep or other 4WD. The last 100 yards or so is rough. The beach above the water is sandy, but once in, it's stones. We walked to the far eastern end and snorkeled out along the rocks--saw lots of fish and some rays; not much coral... More

Less people. Same awesome beauty. Don't miss this spot. Spent out last day at Francis and wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Calm, shallow, peaceful. Don't miss.

Francis Bay is a very fun beach and is great for people who like playing in waves, but don't like wiping out. The day I visited, it was a rather wavy day, but the wave disapated from big waves to small ones before breaking. Francis Bay is a good choice for people visiting for a week or more, and I... More

We went to Vie's for lunch and it started raining on that side of the island and went to Francis Bay where we were able to spend the afternoon. It got cloudy but never rained. There were not many people on the beach that day, which was great having space around you. One of our main beaches we visit when... More

I have had the pleasure of visiting St. John numerous times. We have always tried different beaches and there are many great ones there. Francis Bay has always been my favorite. At times you have the beach to yourselves. Beautiful soft clean sand, crystal clear warm water, it just doesn't get any better. You can snorkel right there and see... More
