My wife and I spent a whole day on a kayak/snorkel expedition to Hurricane Hole with Jimmy Herlan. We went to wonderful places, saw great sealife, had great fun kayaking and learned a huge amount from Jimmy, who is a PhD candidate in marine biology. The lunch provided was delicious. Jimmy was highly informative, safe, careful, and respectful. If you... More

I wrote a detailed review last year about Arawak and how incredible there were in actioning a very serious medical condition that arose on our day trip (this was a health related issue - not due to the trip). I just completed a 5th group trip with Arawak, a day kayaking trip out of Cruz Bay - 16 of us... More

My husband and I just returned from a two week trip the Virgin Islands, five of which we spent kayaking with Arawak Expeditions through the British Virgin Islands. We've visited St. John for the past two years, and wanted to do something a little different with this trip. An acquaintance recommended this five-day kayak and camping trip, and it turned... More

Matt was an amazing guide! We did the Hurricane Hole snorkel and kayak trip. We got to see a part of the island that we've never seen - very serene and gorgeous! Matt was so informative, and we learned a lot about the ecosystem of the island. We definitely recommend this trip!

We rented a house and had boards delivered from Arawak Expeditions. It turned out to be the best idea of the whole vacation. They provided racks for our jeep, snorkel gear & help on the best locations & secret spots. Arthur even arranged a special 10+ mile downwinder after checking that the conditions would be perfect on one of our... More

Four of us did the Hurricane Hole full day trip last Friday, and we all greed that it was first rate from start to finish. Liz, our leader, was well-organized, very knowledgable and congenial. The lunch the company provided was a delicious combination of tasty sandwiches, cold salads, hummus, homemade bread and yummy cakes. The kayaks were very comfortable, and... More

Spent most of my day in deep water swells searching for no fish. Dustin was a good enough guy but not fully engaged and didn't seem to care that he wasn't putting me on fish. Pretty expensive and non-productive day all-in-all!

We were lucky enough that on our first visit to St. John, another couple who was returning had booked an all-day kayak trip around the East End. The kayak was a tandem touring edition designed for long distances and made it easier. The weather was beautiful, and the snorkeling out-of-this-world. Our guide Liz was knowledgeable, easygoing, and fun. Can't recommend... More

Beautiful weather for a day at Hurricane Hole near Coral Bay Sheltered bays for easy travel by kayak to a couple of great snorkel locations Kayaking was not overwhelming, but very relaxed Mangrove snorkeling should be experienced at least once

The owner seems to have been oriented just for the profit--The trip cost was a rip-off ($1295/4.5 days), tax and gratuity extra. He misled one solo tripper (who was married) and promised her a single tent. She ended up in a small tent with another man. The guide said there was no way another tent would ever fit in with...
