We just returned from a 9 day stay in St. John and this excursion was definitely one of our family favorites! Liz was an amazing guide! We did the Hurricane Hole trip. The mangroves are absolutely gorgeous and the scenery was beautiful. Hurricane Hole was very isolated and quiet..... tranquil! We took our 8 & 10 year old daughters. They... More

Rented snorkel gear. The clerk was extremely helpful and nice. I had just come from Just Beach (in the same shopping center). The clerk working at Just Beach had an extreme attitude. It was pleasant to find another snorkel rental place in the same shopping center. I would definitely recommend Arawak over Just Beach

We booked a 1/2 day kayak and snorkel trip. Our tor guide Liz was terrific. We paddled out of Cruz bay to Honeymoon beach and did some snorkeling. We then paddled over to Solomon for more snorkeling. Both places offered great viewing of reef life. Liz was very helpful and knowledgeable in locating and pointing out hidden sea life. Well... More

This was our firs experience mangrove snorkeling and what can we say? It was the best. Boy, do the fish love the all you can eat buffet this ecological wonder provides them! This was a sea kayak...means you need to work... activity. We stopped at two spots in this national reserve; apparently there are only 12 or so trips allowed... More

We took the all-day kayak trip in Hurricane Hole, named for its use as shelter from major storms. The area is protected land and water and Arawak has a license to run a limited number of trips. In the entire day, we saw one small sailboat and no people. Our guide Jessica was great - always eager to answer questions... More

On our last full day on St. John, my wife ad I had booked a kayak/snorkeling trip to Hurricane Hole on the east end of the island - through Arawak Expeditions. When we arrived at the "shop" at Mongoose Junction we found that we, the two of us, were the entire group. In my experience, most companies would have cancelled... More

Two years ago we kayaked to Henley Cay with Arawak and it was the highlight of our trip to St. John. Returning to St. John this summer, we knew we'd book another trip with them and our expectations were high. Arawak exceeded our expectations again. We booked a full-day trip to Hurricane Hole to snorkel the mangroves. We had heard... More

This is the best Caribbean snorkeling that my wife and I have experienced. Who knew that snorkeling in 1 -4 feet of water in the roots of the mangroves along Hurricane Hole could be so colorful, dramatic and vibrant. The sea life from recently spawned to mature fish hiding behind multi-colored sponges attached to the mangrove roots provided endless fascination.... More

Absolutely loved this trip. We took the passenger ferry over from STT and walked from the dock to Mongoose Junction. We met our guide in the shop and headed out for the day. We drove across the island to where we put in on the side of the road. All my expectations for this trip were exceeded. Our guide was... More
