Very rude security, chase you off property, always try booting your vehicle. Place looks run down no where to sit and relax unles in resturaunt. Atmosphere feels like they dont want anyone around.

Great place to get some souvenirs and eat some great grub. Try Fish Tails. Food is great and atmosphere is better

Well. We stopped for lunch--with a our own local boat from St. John. They were going to charge us $100 for a couple of hours to dock. Needless to say, we went somewhere else!!

We came into Red Hook after a week enjoying the BVI to provision, do some repairs, and get set for a charter heading down island. American Yacht Harbor is too shallow to accommodate our yacht, so we had to anchor out and dinghy in - and this is where our problems began - we had a number interactions with AYH... More

Be forewarned - parking here is a BEAR. But, there are several good restaurants - Island Time Pub, and The Caribbean Saloon are good informal places to eat with nice views of the harbor and St, John. Pirates of Red Hook (aka TRADEWINDS GALLERIA) is a GREAT gift shop. They carry a lovely variety of items, any number of them... More

Not sure what's happened to this place since our last visit but the change is definitely not for the better Cars with parking boots on them combined with reduced parking , a two hour time limit and shady characters lurking about, had us checking on the car more than shopping. On our way from the Caribbean Saloon ( which I... More

The Marina had docks A - E. There were more boats tied off the docks than on. The security guards were present. The marina was clean. The access to the ferry port and a few quick restaurants was easy.

Sailed out of AYH twice and ate there three times. Sailed for a marlin charter and a BVI snorkel trip. Both trips were fantastic. Ate dinner at Coco Blue and The Cellar, both were better than fantastic. If you're in Red Hook, check out AYH. Lots of cool stuff
