Well, there is no doubt this resort has seen better days (I have been coming for 9 years). BUT, there is definitely work being done. The villas we have used have been consistently fine (little problems, yes but nothing horrible). Just remember this is not a "luxury resort" but an incredibly beautiful, quiet piece of heaven. Plan to grocery shop... more

This beach is off the beaten path a little bit, you'll need a car to get there unless you are staying at the tiny beach front hotel along it. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. Thats the only possible way to describe it. There was hardly anyone there when we visted it, which made it all the better. There is a little rental... more

Spent 2 nights Jan 3rd,4th. Bars and Store boarded up. Continental breakfast (bagels, juice coffee, tea) included for $ 240 cdn. Subcontracted beach bar/burger joint running daytime only. Expensive. Only walkable restaurant up by the condos also expensive but nice with good food and service. Rooms are nice and large with paradise views. Resort is close to town of Red Hook... more

I visited nearly every beach on St Thomas and this was my favorite. Beautiful sand and water are just a hundred yards through the resort from the free parking lot. The rooms of the resort go right up to the beach with no large fences or walls to ruin the atmosphere. They have two outdoor bars and a restaurant, which... more

As part of our Royal Caribbean vacation, we had an eight hour stop in St. Thomas. We were dropped off at Sapphire Beach for a couple of hours as part of our island tour with Sunny Liston. The beach was pretty crowded but still breathtaking. When we arrived at the beach, we were hungry! We headed over to the full... more

We recently returned from a cruise and had the pleasure of going to St. Thomas for the day. We took a bus tour that included going to Sapphire Beach for 2 hours. When we arrived at 1:20, it was packed but found a spot to put our towels. They charge for beach chairs but not sure how much. The surf... more

My husband and I were at Sapphire Beach last month when we went on our cruise. Sapphire Beach is beautiful. There is excellent snorkeling. The beach is very clean. You can rent snorkel equipment for $5 per hour, beach chairs for $7 for the day. I believe you can also rent kayaks and peddleboats. There are bathrooms there also. I... more

We took our first Caribbean vacation to St. Thomas June 20-28. We were originally booked at Crystal Cove, the sister property to Sapphire Beach. We got delayed on American Airlines, had to overnight in Puerto Rico, and arrived a day late. The staff assured me that all would be fine when I arrived. When we finally got there (15 hours... more

STT Visitors, Forget about Sapphire being called a "resort". Just think of it as renting a perfectly located beach front condo. Do not have expectations of room service, laundry great on site restaurants, etc.. There are fabulous views, the best beach in STT, and if you request a renovated room.. a decent place to stay. It's just not a resort. more
