Description: The Legendary Kon Tiki Sightseeing & Beach Cruise is a winner of the 2013...
The Legendary Kon Tiki Sightseeing & Beach Cruise is a winner of the 2013 Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence! Cruise gently through the beautiful, calm harbor of Charlotte Amalie while sipping complimentary fruit punch and listening to great calypso music, played by a native steel band. Keep cool on the open, shaded lower deck or sunbathe on the upper deck as you pass Bluebeard's Castle, Blackbeard's Castle, and the Governor's Mansion nestled in the mountainside that surrounds the capital. Passing behind Hassel and Water Islands in flat calm waters, the Kon Tiki pauses over a coral reef where she lowers her glass-bottomed viewers so you can view a variety of coral and tropical fish. The Kon Tiki then beaches herself at a wonderful white sand beach with sparkling turquoise clear waters for at least one hour for you to enjoy swimming, sunbathing and beach combing for shells. Enjoy a fun time on the way back with plenty of barefoot dancing, games, and a limbo contest with a prize for all the winners. A boutique and snack bar are available onboard.

We had done this excursion last year and had a nice time, but there was one other ship in port. This time the boat was jam packed (standing room only) and they brought back 1 hour and half later than scheduled (5:15PM instead of 3:45PM as scheduled) so we missed our dinner reservation, and no one offered any apologies. We... More

We booked this excursion through our cruiseline. The excursion started right at the same dock that the ship was at, a bit of a walk to the end of the pier but not that bad. Boarded the barge/boat with plenty of seating room either up on top in the sun or below with ample shaded seats and great views. Off... More

We did this excursion last year and returned again because this was the best excursion we have taken on our Caribbean Cruises. Boarding right at the dock, beautiful weather, crystal clear water, friendly crew, informative narrative of the harbor and history of St Thomas, great steel band, awesome burgers and best Pina Colatas, what's not to like? The boat is very... We read the reviews and were expecting a great time but it would appear that we think a trip round the harbour, a quick float over a coral reef and then an hour on a beach is not worth raving over. We were picked up, went across the bay to pick up other guests from another cruise liner, back round... More

Thank you for taking the time to review The Legendary Kon Tiki. I wanted to elaborate on a few things that were mentioned. The "trip around the harbor" is more than a boat ride. The Dj commentates the cruise pointing out numerous historic sights while listening to LIVE steel band playing calypso tunes. The live Caribbean music is unique and... More

Kon Tiki should be your #1 shore excursion in St Thomas. Not only do they pick you up and drop you off at the cruise dock, but provides a scenic and tour of the island, plus a 60-90 minute pit stop at Honeymoon Beach on Water Island -- probably the top beach option on St Thomas if you're looking for... booked this excursion thru the cruise line picked us up at the dock, had informative tour of harbor, they stopped over a coral reef, opened up the viewing sections and allowed us to look down at the reef..saw a barracuda and other marine life. Then drove the boat up on Honeymoon beach, free beach chairs, restrooms, sandy white beach and... More

Nice people but the trip leaves a lot to be desired. The glass bottom experience hovers over a bunch of dead coral and if you are very lucky you will see 1-2 fish ! Very difficult for young children to see through the opening as there is no step. The beach stop is ok but crowded. In the end this... More

Thank you for taking the time to review The Legendary Kon Tiki. I wanted to elaborate on a few things that were mentioned. When the glass leavers are lowered sometimes the sea conditions are not favorable for quantities of fish to come out and that is something that is out of our control. Our crew does their best and feeds... More

We went on an excursion from the Royal Princess. What a great time we all had. The boat is fun. They open up the bottom so you can see some coral, reef, and some fish. Then they take you to a beach area for 60-90 minutes. After that, the party starts on the way back to the ships. The steel... More

Unlimited fruit punch, fun entertainment, beautiful sailing, friendly crew...all ways to describe the Kon Tiki. We had a wonderful time while sailing to a nice secluded beach area where we were able to use the chairs and umbrellas for free. Swimming and a few water sports were available as well. There were also a couple of little food vendors/cafes to... More

Great excursion. Went on the Kon Tiki tour in 1982 and then in 2015....same boat, same rum punch, same great fun, same limbo, same great entertainment! Had just as much fun the second time as the first. The crew really makes the trip fun for all. The boat (tiki barge) is great, very comfortable and nice way to see the... More
