Main Street is extremely busy, dirty and unsafe. We saw drug deals happening in the open and heard gun shots during the night

Sad to see that most shops are closed unless there is a cruise ship on the dock. Even sadder to hear that drugs and crime closes most places, including restaurants off the main drag 2 or 3 streets in.... really relieved that at least the historic tour took us through significant streets and past important buildings.

Unbelievable all the jewelry shops in one area. We especially liked Diamonds International. Very reputable and nice.

While main street is very aesthetically pleasing, it's truly very touristy. Every other shop is a diamond store. The souvenir shops are all of the ones that aren't diamond stores, and some are both! Peddlers hawk in the streets, shop-keepers hawk from storefronts, and time share scamsters harass pedestrians. After 6:00 p.m. the street is completely vacated by all but thieves and homeless.
