Great variety of shops, but many jewelry stores.

Check out Mr. Tablecloth. They have clothes, pillows and decor, too. Taxis are readily available to and from this area, it you are on foot.

Main Street is a competitive market street with vendors on the side walk directing you into stores aggressively. Not got footing and side walks, narrow streets. There are some nice parts but it changes quick. If you are able, WALK from the cruise ships, it is easy and not as far as Tortola. Go to Diamonds International, ask for James.... More

My husband and I were told by a friend to go to Crown Jewelers while we were in St. Thomas because she and her husband had a good experience there in the past. We found them amongst the many other jewelry shops on a day when the cruise ship tourists were swarming the area. We found a couple pieces we... More

Tourist trap – nearly all shops are jewellery shops and you’re constantly hassled to come inside with various incentives being offered, which I did not appreciate. I’m not interested in jewellery at all and spent my whole time saying “no” to every shop keeper who pounced on me as I passed by. I also understand that the prices were not... More

Every time I go to VI I visit Main Street. The shops are quirky and have a variety of souvenir local items as well as regular shopping items like clothing and jewelry but everything is soooo expensive! Probably overly priced because it's a tourist attraction. The restaurants have delicious food here. I would suggest walking down Main Street and between... More

One fine Spanish restaurant and one amazing marine antique shop make a stop here a must. Didn't find much else, but no matter, since these two stops make the trip.

This area has been developed to keep the cruise ship tourists occupied on their shore visits.Store after store selling jewelry and West Indian keepsakes and beachwear. Many of the shops are located in historic buildings restored for retail so that does make it slightly more interesting than merely window shopping. There are assorted small restaurants located along Main Street as... More

Main Street (Dronnigan's Gade) has numerous shops and little boutiques for a wide variety of shopping but don't expect to find any super bargains. Like many cruise ship ports in the Caribbean you'll find an abundance of jewelry stores. Remember, there is no "duty" on St. Thomas so if a shop advertises "duty free" it's just a come-on. Overall none... More

High end shopping like Rolex, Tiffiany, Versace, Gucci, etc., etc., offered in town. Duty free but definitely not inexpensive. But, if you're in the market for a $10K piece of jewelry you'll save at least $1K in taxes and fees compared to USA prices.
