Our family of 12 had an outstanding day sailing with Captain Joe on Scubadu. A beautiful boat in exceptional condition, with a knowledgeable, salty, capable captain at the helm. We sailed throughout the Virgin Islands and snorkeled at fabulous spots. The lunch of chicken and fish tacos was excellent; a special meal graciously presented. Bottomless rum punch and bloody marys... More

We chartered Scubadu and were not disappointed. The crew was friendly and knowledgeable. Very understanding with a group of 12 including two small children. Lunch that was provided was one of my best meals the whole week! Captain Joe's mahi tacos are unreal. I'd charter again just for those. Great day on the water that I'd do again in a... More

Capt Joe and Mary provided our family a fantastic experience last Friday. We were on a private charter for the afternoon. They promptly arrived as scheduled at St. John and then took us to three great snorkel locations. The lunch served was Joe's famous Mahi Mahi fish tacos with a tasty mango salsa. What a treat. We ended our cruise... More

First, we have been customers of Joe and the Scubadu for MANY years. We have LOVED each and every adventure we take together. This past year, we again had the pleasure of sailing with his excellent mate (and Sushi Chef at Fishtales) Eric. For this adventure, we brought along another couple who have recently moved to the BVIs. Joe was... More

We had a group of 9 from California spending a week on St John, and we were very much looking forward to our day on the water with Joe. I must say this was by far the best day of our week!! Joe and Mary were awesome!! They could not have made us feel more comfortable and welcomed. They basically... More

Joe picked us up after our wedding ceremony at Caneel Bay. We had a beautiful sunset dinner cruise. Joe is an amazing chef! Food and drinks were excellent. Perfect evening. Following day we did a full day trip with sailing, snorkeling and wonderful fresh food. Joe, Mary and Allison were fun to spend time with and made our family of... More

We had 4 adults aboard and things were fun right from the start. Captain Joe picked us up right on the beach in front of our hotel and we set sail for St John at our leisure. The first mate was a sweet and competent sailor, Joe gave us the full rundown and was very helpful answering questions about the... More

When we met captain Joe he immediately seemed to be annoyed we were there. We are an easy going fun couple so we started making conversation with him hoping he would break out of his shell and relax, but it only got worse. He had a negative, sarcastic response to everything we said. One example is that we mentioned we... More

Joe M, Owner at Scubadu, responded to this review

We found this couples forward nature and use of foul language immediately to be offensive. Their pushy nature seemed inappropriate from the start. In an effort to provide a welcome start to the day, we always brief our guests on safety features, housekeeping suggestions, and trip details. This couple was simply not attentive and would not listen. Finally, out of... More

everything was great except the grumpy captain who seems to have grown tired of people being on his boat. The mate was great, the food was really good, snorkeling was lame other than seeing tarpon.... In dry clothes i got freaking yelled at for reaching in the cooler to get a beer just inside the boat. "who do think you... More
