Nightwind is a full service day sail and snorkel excursion, sailing to St John and other small islands suitable for young and old alike. Our niche is private sails for families and groups up to 15 guests. We offer open sails as well for those wishing to meet and sail with new friends. We sail and snorkel at two different locations during our full day sail. Our offerings include continental breakfast, snacks, lunch, dessert and an open bar (something for everyone).Nightwind sails from Sapphire Marina on the East End of St. Thomas close to Red Hook. Captain Rick and First Mate Wes offer top notch personalized service from the moment you step onto the deck of Nightwind. Booking is simple and easy you may book online or for a more person touch you can call and speak with Cathy to confirm your sail on Nightwind.

This is our second sail with Rick and Cathy. The first was 4 years ago, with my wife and two daughters. That excursion during our St. John vacation four years ago was our favorite. This time around, it was even better, because we had the opportunity to swim with some beautiful turtles. Everyone, including my two daughters (ages 15 &... More

Rick and Cathy really take good care of you on the yacht. They provide breakfast, lunch and drinks, snacks and dessert during your whole experience. They also play music on board and also does two snorkel stops. Down-to-earth and very outgoing people. Loved every minute of it... I'll be coming back in June with my husband for our silver 25th... We visited St. Thomas last week. The only activity that we prebooked was a snorkel trip on the Nightwind for Easter Sunday. Our entire family was really excited about this unique way to celebrate Easter! The boat was scheduled to leave at 9:00 and we arrived at around 8:30. I was surprised that nobody from the boat was there when... More

Nightwind has been in business many many years and have never had this happen. The party of four was not "ditched", we have sailed with only two guests in the past when no one else was booked., it was an honest and unfortunate mistake on our part. We would never do this to a guest. We have too many great... More

If you are looking for a fun relaxing day snorkeling and sailing the ocean blue...look no further. Best day ever!!! My husband and I usually tend to stick to the bigger more commercial boats on vacation but decided to try something new. We loved the small, personal vibe of this boat. Captain Rick and crew were laid back and friendly... More

This was the BEST sail and snorkel trip ever! Capt. Rick and 1st mate Deb we're outstanding! The drinks orders never stopped. The continental breakfast and snacks were good fillers. But the lunch was excellant. I don't know if we were just hungry from the snorkeling but. Capt. Rick wife's deviled eggs were so good I ate more than my... More

What a memorable day! We rented the Nightwind for the day with a group of 12 individuals (kids and adults). When we arrived, Captain Rick and first mate Deb were ready for us! They truly understand that all the little details add up to make a fantastic day and lasting memories. Every detail was thought through. Group pictures, morning cocktails,... More

We went to TravelAdvisor to find a private, all-day sail from St. Thomas to St. John and back, and after much searching chose Nightwind. Boy, were we glad we did! Almost as soon as we set sail, we were presented with what they termed was just a continental breakfast. Really? It was warm banana bread, the freshest fruit, and other... More

This was by far the best excursion of our recent cruise. A nice roomy boat, good food, and a great captain and crew. Most of the sail/snorkel trips are on the catamarans, so being on a single-hull sailboat was a great experience. The kids especially enjoyed the sail out under full sail where Captain Rick had it heeling over so... More

A great day aboard Nightwinds with Capt. Rick & and 1st mate Deb. Great sail, and fun with them and the other guests. You really need to do this!!! It doesn't get any better in the islands.
