St Croix, one of the American Virgin Islands, was our first stop on a recent cruise from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Unfortunately, we arrived on a Sunday and Frederiksted was deserted. There were a few craft stalls on the dock, but there does not seem to be much else in Frederiksted. The town looks quite run down, we went for... More

This is where the Cruise Ships tie up on St. Croix, and that's the main attraction. The town is "sleepy" until one of the Cruise Ships pull in, then, everything gets "busy." Beautiful Ocean views from many places in this town....

Rustic town with friendly people and lots of little restaurants along the shore. Clear water, great for snorkeling. Not fancy in any imagination of the word, but nice. Note: Frederiksted is where a the few cruise ships that come to St Croix dock.

We stayed at the Cottages by the Sea... highly recommended! We only ventured off to Christiansted twice the whole week... there was plenty of activities to do in the Frederiksted area. Frederiksted definitely is the less developed town on the island as compared to Christiansted. The only chain restaraunts are KFC and a little Caesar's inside K-Mart.It was very slow... More

Located in the heart of historic Frederiksted town, One-of-a-Kind Kulcha Shop is a unique gem of the Caribbean. Less than a block from the waterfront, One-of-a-Kind Kulcha Shop is an artist collective where you can find clothing, jewelry, artwork, ceramics, cards, books, dolls, incense, preserves, bath and body, home decor, woodwork, plants, crafts and more. Open Wednesday through Saturday in... More

If you like looking at very old buildings and not be surrounded by lot's of people this is the place to go. The waterfront is beautiful and they host events. The July the 4th was fabulous. I happen to love it. Thinks will change a lot if the new planned resort gets built so see sleepy F'sted while you can.

A beautiful place! This is not an expensive "hurry up and wait on me place". Get to know people, relax, get involved, be aware, but fit in. Not so much for the wimpy traveler! But for those that really know how to enjoy beauty, a nice dinner and the local hospitality!

Frederiksted has gotten a bad rap for a few incedents. However, the three times I've stayed there over the past few years have been completely incident free. If you're looking for night life, this is NOT the place for you. The sidewalks roll up after dark. But there are some great lunch places (Polly's and Turtles Deli) that offer great... More

It's very cool to run into people at various fun spots, e.g., dive shops, bars, eateries, etc., that you know from other places. Because the town is so small, the people who live there and that you interact with or all fun and gracious. A-holes get voted off the island. Love this town.
