On St. Croix there are only two towns to visit, so in a week you are going to wind up in Frederiksted. And it will likely be when one or more cruise ships are in port. That is actually a good thing if you fancy casual shopping. The locals turn out in force to work a cruise ship while it's... More

It's really cool when the cruise ship is there, and all the vendors are out. Best food there is pier 69.

We were in St. Croix for a week over Spring Break and decided to make a shopping day of the day the cruise ship is docked in Frederiksted becasue we knew that all the shops would be open. We were chramed by the wonderful, handmade crafts of the vendors that set up right near the square by the Pier. We... More

Not a lot of shopping or restaurants. The pier is cool to walk and look around. The beach is close by and is quite nice.

They'd have to borrow a horse to be a one horse town, but I think the locals and ex-pats alike find that to be part of its attraction. Not a place to go for night life ! Except for "cruise ship" days, a sleeping dog would not be disrupted by traffic. Then the town explodes with activity until the shipl... More

I am a history buff and a culture and architecture junkie. It's good to go when the cruise ships are in if you are into shopping and a more lively atmosphere but I like going even when it's quiet and peaceful.

Town is dead except when Ship is in port. We found ourselves walking the town basically alone most of the time.

We drove here to eat lunch at Turtles Deli, and it seemed to be the only place open on this Saturday afternoon. Turtles Deli was fine. We were driving from Sandy Point to Rainbow beach, so we didn't explore the town but what we did see was deserted looking.

Frederiksted has seen better days, i hope. I was there on a cruise stop, and found it to be worn down. It looks like they are trying to make improvements. We had an all day scuba trip planned, but spend a little time in Frederiksted before & after. Polly's at the Pier was nice and right off the pier. We... More
