This tiny island is actually too small to be interesting but it really is worth a visit - sailing 4 minutes in the ferry brings you to see Christiansted in a new perspective. Having your dinner on the beach at dusk is a must...

We had a great time at the Cay. Snorkeling and swimming. We also rent pedal boat. Beach was clean and clear water. The small ferry was very good.

We've been here several times. The water is clear. It is a nice place to relax on the beach. There is food and drink available. If all the "crab guy" did was play music it would be fine, but he has to do these hermit crab races. He screams the same words over and over and over. You can hear... More

We have stayed at Hotel on the Cay for a week on several occasions. Even though it is not a 5 star hotel, it is comfortable, relaxing and just what we like. There is a people-ferry that takes you to Christiansted and back to the hotel. There is also a restaurant on the cay, along with a pool and a... More

Great beach, enjoyed looking back at the city. Followed some sea turtles around through the grasses. Very much worth the time. Bring you own food, though - the bar food is typical - previously frozen burger patties likely from a costco-like place, but you're gonna pay out the wazoo for em. Wait staff also take the laid back island attitude... More

The ferry picks you up in front of the fort for 5.00 per person round trip. The beach was not very crowded and the snorkeling wasn't bad either. Mostly smaller fish but still something to look at. There is a restaurant on site and it is very good and reasonably priced.

During the week when there are no disembarking crowds from a cruise ship docked at Fredericksted, it is a quiet tiny patch of clean sand with shallow water just a few yards from the assortment of anchored private boats. A two minute ride on a small motor boat takes you over from the boardwalk at the end of the boardwalk.... More

I honestly have to say I wasn't impressed at all..I took the ferry over after reading everybody's review..when I got here I thought the beach was on the other side or something..st Croix is full of beautiful beaches. With amazing views but that beach sucked...I agree with it was a sobering ferry ride to nowhere....

We were visiting for one day on a cruise. Had to take a 45 minute taxi ride to Christiansted then get on the water taxi to Protestant Cay. Just a super fun place to relax and enjoy the beach and the water. They were so welcoming of cruise guests as well. We played Cruise Ship Crab Races. My crab came... More
