During the week when there are no disembarking crowds from a cruise ship docked at Fredericksted, it is a quiet tiny patch of clean sand with shallow water just a few yards from the assortment of anchored private boats. A two minute ride on a small motor boat takes you over from the boardwalk at the end of the boardwalk.... More

I honestly have to say I wasn't impressed at all..I took the ferry over after reading everybody's review..when I got here I thought the beach was on the other side or something..st Croix is full of beautiful beaches. With amazing views but that beach sucked...I agree with it was a sobering ferry ride to nowhere....

We were visiting for one day on a cruise. Had to take a 45 minute taxi ride to Christiansted then get on the water taxi to Protestant Cay. Just a super fun place to relax and enjoy the beach and the water. They were so welcoming of cruise guests as well. We played Cruise Ship Crab Races. My crab came... More

My family and I had a lovely stay at the Hotel St. Croix and decided to visit the beach on Protestant Cay. Mary who works as the ferry toll collector on the island is a very rude and mean individual. She snapped at my 12 year old for simply going into the cooler to purchase a drink. She also had... More

We stayed at the hotel on the day, but even if you aren't staying here I would highly recommend visiting. The beach is clean with calm clear water/and good views. We don't have kids but it is a good spot for little ones, as the beach is protected from waves. It is a 2 min boat ride (leaves from the... More

We visited Protestant Cay for a Tuesday night Caribbean Night. The water taxi fee was reduced. We arrived about an hour early, and my boys had fun playing on the beach before dinner. The sand was soft, and the sunset view was very pretty.

very small island with a hotel. Outdoor bar and very fine sunny beach with possibilities to snorkling. Only way to visit Protestant Cay is a hotel operated ferry boat with possibilities to transportation round the clock. Price for return ferry tour is 5 USD per person.

After searching and searching and asking locals we finally found the spot to take the short ferry ride. Yet were told by many locals the only thing we would see if we went snorkeling was beer bottles and trash. Dedided not to waist our time

This little island is a $5 short ferry ride from mainland Christiansted. We rented snorkels but, there we lots of water sport rental options. We saw the most amazing sea life! Turtles, vibrant colored fish, rays, puffer fish and more. The staff at the water sport rental was super nice. We ate lunch at the restaurant where the people were... More
