After touring the entire island, we finally arrived at Sandy Point which ended up being the best part of our day in St. Croix. There was hardly anyone at the beach, I was able to snorkel along side a school of fish, and relax without being surrounded by tourists. There are no facilities on the beach so go prepared, it... As many have probably noted, this is the actual beach where the last scene of "Shawshank Redemption" was filmed, although in the film they say it's Zihuatanejo. That alone was enough to draw us there, but one key piece of advice is that this National Park is only open on Saturday and Sunday, and only for a few months of... More

Nice beach, nice nature preserve. If you prefer to be away from the crowds, this it the place. This is south of Fredriksted. Not much amenities here so whatever you need, get it from Fredriksted. Nothing else much to do here but just enjoy nature.

We went to Sandy Point on a Sunday afternoon. Stayed on the east end so it was quite a drive, but well worth it. Parking lots were full so we had to park on the road. Lots of people present, but most stayed by the entrance from the main parking lot and it was easy to find a spot to... More

Most beautiful beach and sand I have ever seen. We took a picnic lunch and tent shelter for shade. Did some swimming and walking of the beach. Very few people on the beach. Limited hours but well worth it.

We took the time to make it to this beach and it was so worth it! We had the whole place to ourselves and it was beautiful soft ocean sand and water with gentle waves that allow you to just back float and look up at the clouds. It's absolutely breathtaking! The water is crystal clear and is the softest... More

Just back from a cruise with one day on St. Croix. Sandy Point is great. However, we could not find any taxi driver who would take us there. They were saying it's closed (I knew it is open on Sunday as it is not turtle season) and the road is bad etc etc. We were not even bargaining about the... More

yust go if you can. No review can really prepare you for how nice this beach is. Miles of deep, white, untouched sand. Most of the beach-goers are in one area. The rest of the beach (& it really does go on for miles) is deserted. It's only open on Sat & Sun & only when the turtles aren't nesting.... More

This beach is what dreams are made of. Softest sand ever. Most beautiful, buoyant water ever. Crabs cutely scurrying around. Birds singing in the bushes. Peaceful and calm. A slice of heaven on earth.
