Owner description: BIOLUMINESCENT BAY TOURS in the only clear kayaks on St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands and only one of two operators using clear kayaks in the world. Visit our bay at Salt River National Park which is currently being studied by the National Park Service and Dr. Michael Latz of Scripps Institute California. Experience the bay that the scientific community was unaware existed until a year ago and now is being called possibly the best of the six or seven year round bioluminescent bays in the world. Our see through boats are the best way to view this definitely better than swimming through it. Father and son owned business by lifelong residents. Also check out our morning tour and nighttime "Creepy Crawler Critter Hunt" at Altona Lagoon.

2 days left on the island and so we decided to try the biolumnescent bay tour. After calling one outfit and hearing we needed cash we tried Sea Thru Kayaks after eeading reviews and knowing the tour was held with a credit card. Craig answered our call of inquiry and we learned why cash is king on the island. As... More

Amazing tour....you meet the group near the spot where Christopher Columbus landed. You are then helped into your see-thru kayak (no shoes allowed) and given basic instructions on how to paddle. My husband & I have some experience with kayaks so we had no problems but if you have never kayaked it might be a little frustrating. We paddled across... More

We would like to say thank you for choosing us for your tour company, and we are glad you enjoyed it. This is an adventure tour and it sure is not Disneyland and the reference to how kayaking can be frustrating if never done before is a bit off base as we deal with hundreds of customers a month with... The bioluminescence was beautiful and mesmerizing. We really loved being able to see it through the bottom of the kayak as well as from the bow wake and the dipping of paddles and hands into the water. The experience was very well set up and the guides seemed prepared for everything. Tito did a great job of both herding us... More

We at sea thru kayaks would like to say thank you for coming out with us. We are glad that you enjoyed the incredible kayaks we use as they truly are the best way to view the bio. You got a chance to enjoy a visual phenomenon that is all Mother Nature created and is the best bio bay in... More

The clear kayaks are really the way to go. Our guide, Michelle, was fabulous. We got in our boats right at sunset so it wasn't dark yet. Once in the water, Michelle had us group together and told us what to expect. We kayaked over to the lagoon where the bioluminescence was plentiful. It was different than what I thought... More

An amazing experience, best on moonless nights, but just amazing continuous wow! experience staff was marvelous and knowledgeable, have to put on your list of things to do, beware mosquitoes will be bad at launch site but once you get started they calm down, maybe try bracelets no lotion allowed will kill algae that produce lights in water

We would like to say thank you for choosing us and we are glad you enjoyed the experience. Sorry but we could not control the bugs on land that night and normally there are none especially on the water but this tour does involve Mother Nature. Craig More

I was a little apprehensive about this tour. I have kayaked a little, but never in the dark. However, it was not as difficult as I expected (although I was a little tired by the end of the trip). The bioluminescence is really amazing. It looks like you are paddling through a bay of glitter:) Seeing the plankton going under... More

We would like to thank you for coming out with us, and we are glad you enjoyed the bio in our kayaks. We just purchased another batch of totally clear kayaks but instead of increasing the number of customers we would take out each night ( usually 20 ) we have decided to limit group size to only 12 customers... My family really enjoyed our bioluminescent tour on July 23rd. It was fascinating to see the bay come alive and the see thru kayaks are the best. I don't think the experience would have been the same in another type of kayak. You could see everything as if you were sitting in the water without a boat. Our teenage kids... More

All of us would like to say thank you for choosing sea thru kayaks. We are glad that the children and yourselves loved the tour and our boats. The concierge at the hotel made the arrangements for us. Craig sent us an email with details for our excursion. We paid in cash at the time of our departure. In my opinion, the Sea Thru Kayaks VI is the only way to see the Bio Bay. This was the best part of our trip and I'm so glad we went with Sea Thru Kayak! Going out in a regular kayak would not have been nearly as cool. My husband and I are not experienced kayakers but we were able to do the trip to the bay and back without a problem. This is a must do... More

We would like to thank you for taking our tour.
