We hiked from the Carambola hotel to the tidal pools. The hike is narrow and steep in spots so wear appropriate shoes. There were some incredible vistas along the way with spectacular views. We were so surprised when we got to the beach to see that it was covered in rocks. This is the only beach we came across that... More

Wow! It was a very nice hike from our hotel to the Tide pools. Very breath taking view! Love every minute of it! The ocean on that side is so untouched that it feels like you in real paradise!

Hiking from the Carmbola Resort is almost 3 miles each way most of the hike is shaded at least, but it was pretty strenous even if you are not in bad shape. The beach before the tide pool is very rocky and the surf was rough so not a good swimming beach. It was not to hard to climb over... More

Great place, and you have to know a few things to enjoy the hike. Aproach from the shore side (East). Drive all the way up to the Renaissance spa entrance, turn into the employee parking lot, drive through the lot, turn left into public parking - which is sort of an open field. Walk back to the street, turn left... More

Just hiked today June 24. We (wife, daughter 24 yo and myself) are active walkers, runners and hikers and found the hike not terrible, but it would be a challenge for anyone not used to hiking up and down some fairly steep hills. Most of the hike is in the shade of the forest except for a grassy area close... More

This hike is 2.7 miles each way, and it is was a pretty intense hike for me being a novice. It took us just under an hour to get there and the same amount of time to get back, and as difficult as it was...it is well worth that difficult road! I definitely recommend doing this hike with someone who... More

This is a bit of a hike from Carambola Beach but when you get there, you will fill up the camera with photos! Make sure you take water with you and good hiking shoes

Dangerous and long walk for 5 minutes of pleasure. The walk takes 45 minutes through the forest covered with ants and steep hills. Once you get to the beach you have a long walk over sharp large rocks.

I'd recommend this for anyone in decent shape. We're almost 50, exercise 3-4x a week and found this to be moderately strenuous. The Carambola resort has a map which is helpful. The first 10 minutes are pretty steep and a bit of a challenge to climb up, but more of a challenge to climb down. Do not do this hike... More

These pools are amazing. After a good 30-45 minute hike from the Carambola hotel, you see the beach, and then climb over the rocks to enter the tidal pools. The pools were either shallow to about chest height in depth. The first time we went the tide was low and the water did not crash over the rocks. The second... More
