Type: Horseback Riding Stables, Sports
Owner description: Provo Ponies is a small riding stable located on the southeast end of the island of Providenciales. We do two guided rides a day, morning ride at 9:30am and an afternoon ride at 3:30pm during winter hours, 4:30 during the summer. We can take all experience levels from 6 years old and up (if they are younger they must be experienced riders). There is an extra charge if someone must be led. Everyone rides their own horse or pony, no double riding. We have a 200 pound weight limit. Groups are never more than 12 riders. Private rides are available for an additional fee. Helmets are available and are required for children 17 and under. We ride along quiet dirt roads and trails to Long Bay Beach, a 4 mile long secluded beach. We do our best not to do nose to tail type rides, and more experienced riders are given the chance to trot or canter along the beach depending on the tides. The shallow waters of the Caicos Banks off Long Bay make it an ideal place to take your horse into the ocean. You can book a one hour ride or a 90 minute ride. We can arrange for transportation to and from your hotel.Reservations are required. A Visa or Mastercard number is required for all reservations, as well as weights and experience levels of all riders in your group so that we can properly assign horses to riders. We are a fully insured and licensed business in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

This place seems to really care about and for their hoses. The staff was friendly and the horses were beautiful. A must do at least once! Riding the horses through the ocean is a very cool experience!

At first I was a little scared but it was so much fun and one of the highlights of my trip to Turks and Caicos! My horse was great and my favourite part was getting in the cool water. The horses are obedient and very well trained. Overall, everyone was positive and it was a very memorable and exciting experience.

My sister and I had a very memorable and positive Provo Pony experience. She and I grew up riding horses and where she's continued riding, I have not so our comfort levels are vastly different. Therefore, we both appreciated the thought and insight the staff put in to which person would ride what pony and the thorough instructions to include... More

Our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) went on this adventure last week. Wow! We are new to riding. Some in our group were more experienced but it was all fine. Maneuvering the horses takes coordination but the guides teach you the necessary commands before you start. Our youngest are 8 and they did well. I was very impressed... More

We got to ride some horses down to the water and in the water for about an hour. It was a lot of fun and something that is pretty unusual. Definitely something that is worth doing.

This was a great family trip. Went out and met the horses at the stable, and learned the basics of moving with them. I love the fact that they are all rescues. Took a short trip out along a dirt road, on to & along the beach, and then went right in. The horses love the water, and we all... More

Meaning, it will only take a few minutes to fall in love with your ride! The guides are very knowledgeable about each horse and will match you up well! Fabulous way to spend time with your new friend!

An awesome, unique experience that you MUST TRY. Thankfully this is not your normal all-horses-ride-in-a-single-file type of ride...most folks are actually able to lead most of the horses here, even if you have limited/no prior riding experience. And the horses love the water as much as the riders. Guides are knowledgeable, patient and helpful, especially during the ride. Highly recommend... More

This was such an amazing activity and worth the money. The horses were great and the guide was very conscience of how things are going on with the group and providing information about the area. One of the most favorite memories of any trip. Just have a waterproof camera, jeans and an old pair of shoes (I wore canvas tennis... More
