Owner description:
Provo Ponies is a small riding stable located on the southeast end of the island of Providenciales. We do two guided rides a day, morning ride at 9:30am and an afternoon ride at 3:30pm during winter hours, 4:30 during the summer. We can take all experience levels from 6 years old and up (if they are younger they must be experienced riders). There is an extra charge if someone must be led. Everyone rides their own horse or pony, no double riding. We have a 200 pound weight limit. Groups are never more than 12 riders. Private rides are available for an additional fee. Helmets are available and are required for children 17 and under.
We ride along quiet dirt roads and trails to Long Bay Beach, a 4 mile long secluded beach. We do not do nose to tail type rides, and more experienced riders are given the chance to trot or canter along the beach depending on the tides. The shallow waters of the Caicos Banks off Long Bay make it an ideal place to take your horse into the ocean. You can book a one hour ride or a 90 minute ride. We can arrange for transportation to and from your hotel.
Reservations are required. A Visa or Mastercard number is required for all reservations, as well as weights and experience levels of all riders in your group so that we can properly assign horses to riders.
We are a fully insured and licensed business in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Although I had a few panic attacks (due to horse freak-outs), I was glad that I went on this ride. Your horses actually swim in the ocean with you on top! If you bring a camera know that it could get wet...be careful. Some of the coolest photo ops around.

Went for a ride with the great people at Povo Ponies on Jan 23rd. Had our 2 kids ages 9 and 10 with us. Niether experienced riders. They both really enjoyed it. I would highly reccomend Provo Ponies.

We booked this a month and a half before leaving on our vacation and we were glad we booked early as they were full. The staff was very friendly and knowlegeable about their horses and even made my husband feel extrememly comfortable although it was his first time ever riding a horse. We booked this as part of our holiday in Turks and Caicos and it turned out to be the highlight of the holiday.
The horses were beautiful and well cared for, the staff and owners polite helpful courteous and friendly.

This was not a nose to tail ride; we were well instructed before we left the paddock, and then we had the freedom to ride side by side or hang back taking photos, whatever. This was our daughter's first time for horseback riding and they had a great time. The girls in charge were so helpful and carefully picked the right horses. They loved riding in the water.
