Just got back from a fortnight in Tobago. Visited Grafton Sanctuary 3 times. A great place for birds. No need to go for the 4pm bird feed, just walk the trails with your bins and camera. You will see a great variety of birds if you take the time. The owners do not charge an entry fee, but ask for... More

Run-down place in the forest with nice atmosphere. Old bird-feeding house in the centre, nature trails around it in the forest. Good for walking in the forest without guide. The man feeding the birds was very nice and told us a lot, but you need to ask him.

A friend of mine who spent a lot of time in Tobago many many years ago recommended a visit here. So we gave it a try, I'm sure if he was present the day we went, he would think he was in the wrong place. It is poorly signposted from the main road and I would suggest a jeep or... More

Nice place but not very well kept up. The drive up requires a 4-wheel drive. There is a somewhat rundown building and poorly maintained trails. Feeding time at 4pm brought in many Chacalacas (Coricos), motmots and BQ's but not much more.

We attended the 16:00 bird feeding and were very disappointed. The guy with the seed did not acknowledge our existence - made no eye contact and did not say a word during our 45 minute visit, and eventually wandered off. First he threw a bucket of seed onto the lid of a concrete water tank, and sure enough a load... More

Very impressive place. Lots of birds getting very close. Visit this place at 16.00 and see how Mr. Sampson feeds the birds.

We are staying at the adjacent house and have greatly enjoyed visiting the bird sanctuary. The people who run it are knowledgeable and very friendly and have shared a great deal with us

This is a very beautiful and scenic site. You will see lots of birds, especially the Cocrico (the national bird of Tobago). However for maximum viewing it is best to go early in the day or later in the afternoon. There is no "cost" but donations are welcome and quite frankly it's worth the donation.

A great location, very easy to get to to enjoy Tobago's nature life, walk the easy trails and see several bird species.

We first visited this reserve about 5 years ago when our cruise ship stopped off at Tobago for one day. As keen birders I had done the research so we took a cab there from the ship @ the reasonable price of £30 uk. The driver agreed for this price to wait for us for 2 to 3 hours at... More
