Took the family here, not a great lover of zoo's for obvious reasons. However plenty of work has been done and is on going to make all of the animals etc as comfortable as can be. Real nice selection and they all look in good condition. Worth a trip and not over priced. Good clean washroom facilities. Only thing perhaps... More

Most of the animals were in cages. Not enclosures. Cages. Small cages. It looked like animal jail. Some of the cages had a bit of wood or limbs but not a bit of greenery which is clearly not remotely close to a primate's or bird's natural environment. The alligator/crocodile/cayman ponds were smaller than swimming pools by far. Some of the... More

I recently visited this zoo and found it to be a huge improvement to how it was a few years ago. The animals look healthy and the new addition of the giraffes and Bengal tigers give locals a great appreciation and awareness of foreign animals which are all part of the circle of life. What really stood out to me... More

There have been many improvements but more still needs to be done. This is the paradox of Zoos if there is a consistent stream of visitors then improvements can be made. But if improvements aren't made the visitors wouldn't come.

I came here 7 years ago, and was scared by how filthy all the cages were, and how sad the animals looked. They still have a long way to go, but the animals look happier and better treated, and the staff are friendlier and more happy to answer questions. As I said - there's still some ways to go, but... I took my nieces and nephews to the zoo to see the Giraffes .. they are so cute !! It was really nice to be able to see in real life an animal not native to Trinidad and Tobago. We look forward to the arrival of the tigers !!!

Took a walk to the zoo today. $20tt adults $10tt children. The zoo is very small, however has a reasonable variety of inhabitants. Alligators, caimans, ocelot, birds of prey, cougar, howler, spider monkeys, 4 lions, a pony, fishes, butterflies, etc. Most of the cages were small and sad; around the lions the stench was horrendous, but I am happy to... i visited this zoo a couple times but my last two visits were my best there. there were some changes to the surroundings which for me made the place seem more welcoming, scenic and relaxing. i loved seeing the otters in their new enclosures, thought the pony was a cute addition and the butterfly garden is like a little piece...
