This zoo is the largest on the island and smaller than those in bigger countries (for obvious reasons). The educational value is good for little children and there is food and bathroom facilities throughout this location. Always a good location for an afternoon stroll if you dont mind the heat (or rain). Parking is sometimes a hassle but generally safe.

First trip to Trinidad and this attraction was mind damaging. The animals look dehydrated, starving with no care. Some animals are on the verge of going insane because of the lack of mental stimulation due to the area of the cage. It is very easy for these animals to become aggressive due to their environment. PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THE... More

This is a small zoo, well maintained and gives a good selection of both native tropical species as well as those from other continents. It is a nice easy stroll, can be enjoyed by children and adults. The local fauna of the mainly shaded footpaths make for a delightful few hours. If you expect the sanitized versions of a zoo... Every destination I go to and if I know they have a zoo I will mark it in as one of the things I want to visit and support. I was so shocked at this place that I had to walk out after 20 minutes. The fish tanks are filthy with algae and the walls are filthy, all the reptile... More

This is an attraction that can be enjoyed by the young and not so young. Great for a date or a family day out. They have these two giraffes now that will blow your mind. We got to see supper time for the lions. It was a great experience.

First visit to zoo with my 2 year old grand daughter. Last visit was over 20 years ago with my son and daughter. The zoo is being upgraded and they are doing an excellent job. Saw the pair of giraffes and the wort hogs along with the big cats, monkeys, birds etc but my favorite and by far the happiest... More

Took the family here, not a great lover of zoo's for obvious reasons. However plenty of work has been done and is on going to make all of the animals etc as comfortable as can be. Real nice selection and they all look in good condition. Worth a trip and not over priced. Good clean washroom facilities. Only thing perhaps... More

Most of the animals were in cages. Not enclosures. Cages. Small cages. It looked like animal jail. Some of the cages had a bit of wood or limbs but not a bit of greenery which is clearly not remotely close to a primate's or bird's natural environment. The alligator/crocodile/cayman ponds were smaller than swimming pools by far. Some of the... More

I recently visited this zoo and found it to be a huge improvement to how it was a few years ago. The animals look healthy and the new addition of the giraffes and Bengal tigers give locals a great appreciation and awareness of foreign animals which are all part of the circle of life. What really stood out to me... More
