I quite enjoyed my visit to this compact zoo. The Bengal tiger cubs are a delight, as are the giraffes, plus there are some amazing primates and very colourful birds. There is an interesting mix of creatures here, although I felt some animals needed more space and greater stimulation. That said, the animals were well cared for and new housing... More

There have been alot of improvements to the zoo over the years. But there is still so much to be done. The aquarium section is terrible, needs urgent maintenance. Overall, too many small enclosures for animals that need alot more space. I personally find that the newly born tiger cubs are being handled too often and unnaturally. I don't feel... More

I feel sorry for the animals in this zoo, although you can see recent renovations and that they are continuing the fact still remains that the animals are kept in tight, cramped spaces, come on trinidad and tobago with all the land push and relocate the zoo.

What a beautiful, quaint place to visit. We found ourselves stopping by the zoo to see the new baby bengal tiger cubs - what a treat that turned out to be for my family. We enjoyed the calm, almost serene atmosphere of the zoo and found the grounds to be maintained well. All staff we encountered were friendly, knowledgeable and... More

We spent several days in Trinidad with two other couples. We were surprised to learn that many activities are closed on Sunday. We chose to visit the zoo after brunch at The Hilton since it was within walking distance. We spent several pleasant hours there, often sitting in the shade people-watching. There was a good variety of animals on exhibit.

This zoo needs to be seen in context. It has gradually been improving over the years- and recently the pace of improvement has increased. Yes- the zoo is small and some cages could definitely be increased in size. The positives are a. Improvements are being made to these over time b. There is a good selection of smaller animals c.... Can be done same day with gardens. Go when it is cool so that you can see the animals. Next to the Hilton.

Small zoo, but looks like they're working on it. Lots of variety for such a small place, and you can get pretty close to the animals. Lots of tigers and monkeys which are my favourites, and also some white bengal cubs. If you're in the area, it's worth a visit, and it's not too expensive. Go early in the morning,... More

The zoo is in a perfect location and the lights are pretty. There are no recommendations I need to go there sober

The entrance fee I believe was $35TT and it is situated next to the Botanical Gardens (which is free to visit). I expected to see more room for the animals but was disappointed space was limited. The lions and tigers cage are very small which can cause aggravation to the animals. The alligator does not even move but will open... More
