Let me start by saying, I haven't been to this zoo since I was in primary school. A lot of people told me that it had greatly improved over the last few years. I decided to take my little cousins as a Sunday outing and I was pleasantly surprised. Huge improvement and it was very enjoyable. We were there by... More

The zoo is good for a short visit. However it needs more animals and facilities. The parking is too small

Emperor Valley Zoo is a very popular attraction for the locals. At weekends and holidays it is packed. I have visited about 3 times now. It reminds me of the zoos I went to as a child 50 years ago in the UK where you could almost touch the animals. My son loved going there for the close-up excitement. You... More

Remarkable that animals seem happy as the cages are all quite small, badly maintained and often dirty. I am surprised that the Government doesn't spend more money on the place as there is a lot of charm to the setting. Good variety of animals. Alligators, snakes and birds. Many from the Caribbean and South American region. Zookeepers always friendly and... More

Ive now been to this zoo 2 times in 3 years and have not seen much improvement in conditions the poor zoo animals live in. I loved seeing the animal, when they had alot of room to move in, and I was happy to see Sudi, the Canadian born chimp who has been living in trinidad for many years now.... More

While Strolling through exotic flowers and plants in the Botanical gardens, we stumbled upon a parrot cage! Entranced by the beauty of this bird in a cage, we followed the sounds to the entrance of a quaint "zoo". Paid the high cost of admission, stating it cost as much as a Canadian Zoo! Upon entering the facility one is struck... More

i haven't been to the zoo in Trinidad for at least five years , and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised first of all by the selection of animals and secondly by the quality of the staff ! All very knowledgeable and eager to share with the visitors ! The new giraffes are lovely , and knowing... More

I quite enjoyed my visit to this compact zoo. The Bengal tiger cubs are a delight, as are the giraffes, plus there are some amazing primates and very colourful birds. There is an interesting mix of creatures here, although I felt some animals needed more space and greater stimulation. That said, the animals were well cared for and new housing... More

There have been alot of improvements to the zoo over the years. But there is still so much to be done. The aquarium section is terrible, needs urgent maintenance. Overall, too many small enclosures for animals that need alot more space. I personally find that the newly born tiger cubs are being handled too often and unnaturally. I don't feel... More

I feel sorry for the animals in this zoo, although you can see recent renovations and that they are continuing the fact still remains that the animals are kept in tight, cramped spaces, come on trinidad and tobago with all the land push and relocate the zoo.
