I visited the Emperor Valley Zoo with my family on the 21st of April, 2013. It was a nice family visit, but it seemed a little downgraded, in my opinion; and thus could do with a little sprucing up. I noticed that they're planning to open an African themed section and I am looking forward to that. First let me... More

The zoo makes for an enjoyable family outing. There was quite a bit of activity during the morning. The animals were active having just been fed. The agouti were digging up each other's buried bits of fruit. There were many helpful zoo staff around. You always learn something new at the zoo. The signage was adequate. I'm looking forward to... I loved getting close to the Howler monkeys. We were cautioned By locals to not go too early or stay too late for safety reasons. I felt safe as there were lots of families and groups of visitors.

Most of the animals appeared healthy...though lion appeared confined. Birds and smaller animals are an ok intro to local wildlife. Range of monkeys interesting

Although it is small (VERY small!) by North American standards, the Emperor Valley Zoo is still a lovely place to visit, and we have been several times during our visits to Port-of-Spain. As well as a few foreign species, the zoo houses a wonderful selection of native birds and animals. The exhibits are close together, and you can get extremely... More

Have gone there just to show my boy some new animals, but we were quite dissapointed as the ZOO in not in very good shape, some animals in poor conditions, not very large cages, etc. Have expected more.

Not in the best condition, but the staff makes an effort to keep the zoo clean and take care of the animals. Lions, monkeys, birds, snakes (including a rescued anaconda), etc.. A decent grouping of animals to see in a Caribbean zoo. Kids should like it. Small cafe near the entrance. Fee was about $20 TT per adult, $10 TT... More

I agree with the reviewer below me. You only need to go here once and thats it. It was actually bigger than I expected it to be. They are doing some renovations to make way for the african exhibit. Me and some friends decided to check it out as it was a five minute walk from our hotel. Some of... More

The zoo is good for a one time visit....no incentive for repeat visits as the lone lion which we saw was prob there since I was a child. The facilities is in dire need of an upgrade and do look forward to taking my son again when this work is completed. Snakes, fishes, monkeys, etched are a few animals which... More
