Not only is the beach beautiful, but the drive up from Port of Spain has some great views. In comparison to other beaches in the Caribbean, the beach was decent and there were definately some good waves while I was there. There are changing rooms and showers available for about $1 US and they are relatively clean and safe. Also... more

Most of the reviews are correct in their assessments, but watch out for the red flags when posted. We went on a day when there was deadly undertow & the lifeguards were late in putting out the flags. Didn't discover the dangers until we were already in the water and others were also in the water. When trying to get... more

Maracas Beach was so amazing! We took a cab from our hotel, Cascadia Inn by cab, which our staff at the front desk booked for us. They hooked us up with Nigel, a humorous man, who went way out of his way to make us feel welcomed. He not only took on us a tour, about 1 1/2 hours prior... more

If you go to Trinidad, everyone will ask you if you visited Maracas beach so it's definitely worth a visit to say you have been! It's a good sized beach and generally a great day out, places to eat and there is always the option of bake and shark which is famous at Maracas. If it's not too busy with... more

This is a perfect beach. The sand is compacted in a way that makes it easy to walk on (and build sand castles), there are coconut trees along the beach for shade, and the water is warm and fairly calm. Trinis think this is a substandard beach, but don't listen to them. The water is great, not rough, and, although... more

Standing between the Range and the Caribbean sea is something one has to experience. No other destination would give you such a warm feeling about a place. With the sand being beige and soft as velvet on your feet, there is nothing that can compare with it. Maracas Bay is unique and comforting. Wow! Who would have guessed such a... more

Maracas beach is the most sexy and relaxing beach. It is the most popular beach in Trinidad, it close to the City (Port of Spain - 40 mins drive). Although it is so popular and close to the city, it does not feel urban, it feels closed and isolated because it is surrounded by the steep mountains bearing lush green... more
