Richard's Shark and Bake is the best food around. Nothing compares to it in the United States. The waves were harsh but fun.

I took the trip up the winding road to Maracas Beach on a Thursday. I guess no one come out for the tourists if they are not there on the weekend. Only a few shark n bake stands were open..It was not disappointing. I guess I missed something where they would be a bon fire and bbq-ing along with great... More

I've been to Maracas every year since 2006, and for good reason too. This beach is pure awesome! The drive to get there is quite seneic, through jungle mountain in the north of the island. The beach itself has very strong water, so I would advise non-experienced swimmers to stay in the shallows, the food there is also incredible, the... More

Residents of the island often take for-granted the beauty of this beach. It is not just the best beach on the island, but the best beach in the Caribbean. Long stretches of soft sand, close to many eating establishments which often the famous Maracas bake and shark, great waves and always populated by enough people to feel lively but never... More

According to the time of year, the water is warm, and fairly calm. If surfing is your thing, there are big waves too! A fishing port is near to the eastern side of this picturesque bay. The drive to get there rivals Hawaii in terms of the breathtaking views. The bake and shark at Richard's is a gastronomical surprise. Tasty... More

Can be a little rough sometimes but it's a great attraction for any tourist that may visit. Lots of food vendors to choose from.
