This was the beach that we went to when I was a child...with my grandparents and my mother...all British Trini's. My sister and I went back to visit recently, and felt some amazing memories! We had shark and bake from a local vendor, swam, and dug our toes in the sand. Yes!

Maracas Beach is the best beach on the island of Trinidad. Accessible via roads through the Northern Range of mountains, it can be reached via 2 routes - from Port of Spain or San Juan The roads are narrow and twisting and drivers need to take extra care. But the view is spectacular and it's a very picturesque drive. The... More

Its a nice beach. However, beware of the lifeguard signs and follow them. There can be strong currents. Wonderful for famous Bake and shark. However, you can get Potato pies, Gyros, Chicken and chips and other types of food

This place is a must see. There's always a really nice energy and feel to this place. All the locals go here, so it's not full of tourists and annoying people. Because all the locals go here there's also no tacky souvenir shops or similar which is always a relief when visiting a popular site like this, You MUST get... More

Maracas Bay is simply beautiful! It was fairl empty when we went, and i reslise some people might have had bad experiences there but we felt very safe all the time. A lot of locals hang out there which is awesome. It is also easy to get to by bus from POS bus station (leaves at 8am for 4TT$) and... More

We stopped here for just over an hour on our 1 day tour of the island (we had a full day - went to the water falls, queen park and several other stops). We are a bit snobby so the water was a bit too dirty for our liking. But MANY people were in it - looked to have been... More

As part of a reunion the family went to visit Maracas Bay and Beach. The drive itself is a pleasure, with a few vista points for great pictures. Drive slowly though, some sharp curves on the way up. Maracas Bay has a beautiful beach with mountains framing the view. In addition, Maracas Bay/Beach is known for their bake and shark... More
