This is NOT the best beach in Trinidad. However, given the number and variety of food outlets, parking and beach chair rental services it is a bit more convenient to hang here. The waters can get rough and there frequent rip currents, so if you are a weak swimmer you may want to stick closer to shore.

This beach is beautiful, a bit on the small side, and parking can be diffcult , but well worth the stress. No need to worry about food and drinks, as there are a wide range of eatery offering the famous bake and shark and other items on the menu. The drive the the bay is also very nice, roads are... Love this beach. The only issue I have is getting there. Its a scenic route but people drive so fast on tiny roads that are scary and have cliffs. Maracas has a full compliment of great food spots. The beach is clean. I love it there

Maracas is very accessible from the capital Port of Spain . It takes about 45 minutes to an hour. This is a long beach lined with coconut trees. There a small fishing village at one end where you can purpose fresh fish from the local fishermen. There is also a small hotel (never been so I can't rate). At the... More

You must come here if you ever find yourself in Trinidad. The water is beautiful and warm, but beware the strong undertows. There are better beaches for swimmers. The are beach chairs and umbrellas for rent. Chairs were $20tt per day or approximately $3.50 U.S. We never rented an umbrella do I don't know the price of that. Bathroom facilities... More

Went to Maracas Bay after some hesitation from reading other reviews in reference to the drive and distance from Port of Spain. Though the rode is a bit winding with very sharp curves, it didn't take us more than 35 minutes from the Savannah. We arrived around 11:00 and I am so grateful to have been able to see and... More

It was fun to visit but it was not special ---the beach was very basic. It was fun to eat at and people watch though. The drive was about 45 minutes from the Port of Spain.

The drive to Maracas can be a bit nerve wracking for the unfamiliar - winding narrow one lane road uphill / downhill, sharp turns around blind corners - although the views are awesome. Great beach; water can sometimes be quite choppy. If you enjoy riding waves, it really fun. Have visited a few times several years ago and then again... More

This is a great venue for a lazy day. Simply pack drinks in a cooler and drive over to enjoy a space where the entire family can find somthing to do. There are numerous huts that offer our world famous bake and shark (all fried) or other types of fried fish, as well as other local dishes. Pay attention to... More

Colleagues of mine took me to Maracas Bay to enjoy Bake N Shark, which is across the street from Maracas Bay. We ate our sandwiches as we watched the swimmers and beachgoers enjoy their time on the beach. This was a very nice spot, with benches or lounge chairs you could obtain. The bay looked like a great spot to... More
