We stopped here for just over an hour on our 1 day tour of the island (we had a full day - went to the water falls, queen park and several other stops). We are a bit snobby so the water was a bit too dirty for our liking. But MANY people were in it - looked to have been... More

As part of a reunion the family went to visit Maracas Bay and Beach. The drive itself is a pleasure, with a few vista points for great pictures. Drive slowly though, some sharp curves on the way up. Maracas Bay has a beautiful beach with mountains framing the view. In addition, Maracas Bay/Beach is known for their bake and shark... More

After a pretty drive around the mountain you finally see the stunning Maracas Bay - beautiful and safe for family bathing with delicious Shark "n Bake. A must for any visitor to T&T.

First of all, never have I ever seen someone give our free beach chairs to lounge on - so that was a great perk. The beach is breathtakingly beautiful. The water was warm, the sand was incredibly fine, and the view was simply amazing. We had bake and shark after our beach day at Uncle Sam's and it was delicious.

Wonderful beach, went here with a few Brazilian friends last year and it was different since it was my first time at maracas beach. High tide comes in really fast so if the temperature changes while you are in the water, know high tide is coming. Other than that loved it.

We had visited this bay by yacht and anchored for a night just chilling whilst exploring the north coast. It would have been a wet landing to have gone ashore so hired a car 2 weeks later. A place just to chill with the locals. A wide beach with palm trees for shelter from the strong sun. The front is... More

I had a good time just playing in the water. Stopped by the local restaurants for some food while at the beach. Worth the drive just to try the bake and shark.

Arrived early saturday morning to find that I nearly had this amazing beach to myself!! Ample parking, changing facilities, beach chairs to rent and friendly locals around the food/shopping booths. Could not have felt more safe and welcome enjoying this magnificent beach!! - alex dudik @alexdudik on twitter
