Just a 15 minute drive after Maracas Beach is the beautiful Las Cuevas beach. I personally prefer this beach over the abovementioned primarily because of its calmer waters, gentler waves, broader and longer shorelines, and has less people overall. Downside: Parking can be a little hassle as the internal carpark usually fills quickly. You may have to park on the... More

I rate this beach over Maracas Bay and I am a local that live in a nearby village. Not much waves you can rent a umbrella & chair and relax. Calm and beautiful scenery. lots of parking and space for families do even overnight camp out as well. Bathrooms are clean with minimal fee of $1.00tt

If you want privacy, I highly recommend going to this beach over Maracas beach as it is only a short drive away. From what we saw as we drove through Maracas, Las Cuevas is MUCH quieter and more secluded. There is a restroom available that costs only $1TTD to use. They appear to keep it well maintained and cleaned. Easily... More

After you buy 'Bake n Shark' at Maracas Bay, I recommend that you drive up the road to Las Cuevas Beach. It is less crowded and probably a little cleaner. Maracas Bay is beautiful but so is Las Cuevas. The best time to go is during the week, as these beaches get really crowded on weekends. They have good clean... More

Very nice beach after the famous Maracas bay. Usually i reach there through a trail starting at the roadside which takes you to a nice spot down the beach, but there is parking for regular beachgoers at the entrnce. This beach is long and has some nice spots along it, even a cave/sinkhole depends on which end you view from.... More

The drive to the beach is long, winding, steep hills and blind corners.Took about 2 hours to reach. The car park was full, and most parked dangerously along the side of the road. The beach had lots of facilities, food cafes, bathrooms@a cost of 1TTdollar,the beach was clean, the water was clean, clear.you had to ensure you walk with your... More

The trip to the beach is very scenic there is parking but for the most convenient spots you need to get there early the beach is always clean and the water very inviting on rare occasions the water can be a little rough but not to the point where you feel in danger that is why i take my kids... Great beach but could not park as there were so many cars, got to get there early. On the way back to town (Port of Spain) at 3pm on Saturday there was a 3 mile line of traffic creeping down to Maracas Bay! Go during the week if you can, not weekends.

We cruised over the range and arrived around 11:30am. The water was calm and cool to the touch. On a high 80's day, that was very welcoming. Not much to say other than the vista was immaculate, as usual! Couple of people were playing football on the sand up the beach, a few laid out here and there, the the... More
