I had a day to kill waiting for a flight and spent it here. I booked a guide for walks before and after lunch, lunch and transfers to and from the airport. And what a good way to spend the day, lots of birds, other resident animals, educational, peaceful. Just sitting on the verandah was a treat.

Simply driving out to Asa Wright is memorable, following a winding road into the mountains covered in dense foliage. The road is asphalted all the way, but has potholes aplenty and is very narrow in places, so do drive carefully if you have your own vehicle and avoid driving at night. The Asa Wright Center itself is hidden from view... More

My first trip to Trinidad and I was excited! My friend suggested we try Asa Wright and it was beautiful. Learned quite a bit and saw great sights of some local wildlife and the gorgeous lush greenery of the land. Fair warning though, if you want to try and film the humming birds you will need a high speed camera... More

I stayed a night here back a few years ago. A fantastic place, thoroughly recommend it. Awesome scenery, fantasticvariety of birds and animals to see. Rooms and food were sumptuous. Some excellent conservation work being carried out. Well worth the trek to get there.

I always go up here with family to have lunch and jus enjoy the views ...only once as a teenager i took the tour which was very boring because the tour guide kept telling us about ants and bamboo seeds being swallowed as a method of torture in war (those things didnt interest me at the time) ... Food is... More

Despite the drive (prepare yourself for the unbelievably bad roads), this place is absolutely stunning! Our guide, Jesse, was great at pointing out the not-so-obvious flora and fauna. They claim to have the highest density of different birds anywhere in the world, and I believe it.

First of all, a lovely drive through the foothills of our Northern Range to arrive at the Asa Wright Nature Centre, then a guided walk through anyone of the many natural trails where the great diversity of our Trinidad birdlife becomes apparent. It is a must see for anyone interested in avian natural habitat. The hummingbirds alone are enough to... More

A very interesting and educational tour. Was very fascinated by the birds and the growth of the unfamiliar trees.

I have been going to the Asa Wright Nature Centre since 1998. I just spent two nights and three days there exploring the trails and photographing birds. If you like birds and photography, this is one of the best places in the world to stay. One thing I have learned though is that most people that go there are on... More

The road to get there is a narrow, winding one, way up in the mountain, and its pretty lonely, signs aren't the best but you will find your way. A car can make the journey, but a suv may be better. Although its great quiet time for a couple, I'd recommend to go with a group if you can, as... More
