I stayed at the center in September , 2008 for two days. I am not a field naturalist or even remotely knowledgeable about flora or fauna. But I wished I had planned for a longer stay!! From the early morning coffee with the birds on the verandah I was hooked. The hiking trails through the forest was so much better... more

Visited in late October 2007. The birds are amazing and are fed regularly so that visitors can get a good sight of their beautiful colours and feeding habits. There are good walks around the centre as well as guided tours to other parts of Trinidad. The accommodation is basic but spotlessly clean; the food is well presented and extremely good.... more

We spent a night here and loved it, although one night was probably just enough for our group of 4 adults and 2 teenagers. We are not expert birdwatchers, but loved sitting on the verandah of the superbly located former plantation house, watching the hummingbirds, bananaquits and honeycreepers coming to feed. You go to Asa Wright to see the birds, not for plush accomodations. Expect simple, clean rooms (twin beds, no doubles) with ceiling fan (no air conditioning). I was surprised that being a nature center there was little ecological awareness (eg. use of styrofoam cups) and other than a small solar panel for the security gate there are no "green"... more

I visited Asa Wright Nature Centre with my Brother and Sister-in-Law in February 2005 for a day trip. I can't give a discription that would do this place justice. I've never encountered so many different birds in all my life in one location. That one day there made me long to go back and so March 2, 2008 I will.... more

an ideal place to stay for all nature lovers, sadly i was only here for a day trip, and can highly recommend for everyone, i went with a friend who has walking dificulties, so was unable to go on the nature trials, instead she had a great time sitting on the verander and watching nature come to her, and enjoying... more

We stayed at Asa Wright for 3 nights 2+ days during mid January. This is a fantastic place to see birds. We spent much time on the veranda and taking short walks and saw many many birds, lots of flowers, and a few animals. There is always a guide on the veranda pointing out birds or to answer your questions.... more
