We went to Asa Wright last week (16th April 2015) the birding is amazing with knowledgeable staff always on hand. The accommodation is very basic and although I feel that is acceptable for the opportunity to see such wonderful wildlife, the lack of cleanliness is not!! The bathroom was dirty and we could not walk on the floors of our... More

Asa Wright provides a wonderful opportunity for getting to know about T&T's wildlife, particularly birds. Most that go there are bird watchers but my experience they are happy to share their knowledge and point out what they see to the less knowledgeable like me. The accomodation is basic but comfortable, and we thought the food was excellent Trini fare, but... More

Trying to meet the challenges of daily life had become onerous and as an under pressure academic I needed time, place and space to think, read and write without distractions and where all my basic needs would be provided for. I had heard of Asa Wright but had never been. I thought: " Ah! Forest: green, clean, serene." It seemed... More

This was our second trip in 8 years to visit Asa Wright. As before, it was an unbelievable part of our trip to Trinidad. Ok, so you already know about the unforgettable birding off the veranda but Asa Wright has so much more to offer. It really takes pride in providing excellent bird guides for off site trips as well... More

This simple lodge is in a wonderful location, perched on the side of a mountain looking over the hills. Views are great and there are non-stop hummingbirds (and others) coming up to the lookout deck throughout the day. The lodges has a number of very helpful and friendly naturalists to help you spot and name species. They also lead walks... More

I returned to Asa Wright after a gap of fifteen years and it seemed that I had only been there yesterday. Asa Wright appears to be in a time warp. However, to overhaul the centre much would not necessarily be for the better. I visited as part of a group of eight for birding experiences and for this, Asa Wright... More

Great place, great location and great birds. All the guides were knowledgable and friendly. The accommodation was fairly basic but that isn't why you go there, like the food! Not much choice but good all the same, just a pity about the staff in the dining room, they could take some tips from the guides. The trips were well organised... More

We LOVED every minute of our six day visit with our only regret being our stay wasn't longer. The entire staff went the extra mile to insure our visit was enjoyable and customized to our interests. Birding, food, guides were all outstanding as was the spectacular scenery. We will definitely return! Priscilla and John Ford

Watching the Hummingbirds, yellow tails, and many other species that I had never seen before from the veranda was the highlight of the trip. I never knew there were so many varieties of hummingbirds. They have at least 6 hummingbird feeders set up plus racks for a variety of fruits to attract more birds from the surrounding former cocoa and... More
