They say that 'Nature is a great healer', well then this place will definitely do the trick. It worked for me, just being surrounded by the clean air, the lovely greenery, the unique birds and the tour guide made our experience worth while. We were able to appreciate the many ways in which nature contributes to our lives and I... More

If you like to SIT and watch birds this is the place for you. If you like short walks in forest to see birds and wildlife, again, this is the place for you. Great to place to stay for a few nights

I did the 10:30 am morning tour with a guide assigned by them. The drive to the park is very scenic but the road is bumpy (there was also some construction going on, at the time of this writing.). The park has a wide variety of birds and plants and the tour of 1.5 hours goes by very quickly. There... More

Great birding venue! The terrace at the main house is festooned with sugar-water feeders and so there are vast flocks of hummingbirds and honeyeaters. Personally I preferred the rather less hectic offerings in the various walks in the grounds where we had great sightings of 2 of the 3 trogons, the bearded bellbird and many others. It is a pity... Fantastic views, lots of lovely walks you can go on, and thousands and thousands of hummingbirds. A lovely day out - just remember to book lunch in advance, as they tend to get filled up quickly!

We arrived late to our tour of the sanctuary, which actually worked in our favor. We were able to sit on the back deck of the main house and watch the hummingbirds, tegu lizards, and agouti move freely around the property. The hummingbirds were amazing to watch up close. The tour was informative and time passed quickly. Before you leave,... More

We had heard about Asa Wright from friends who stayed there last year. As we had to stop off in Trinidad on our way to Guyana we thought we would take a three night trip there. I am SO pleased we did. It more than lived up to expectation. Our travel agent made all the arrangements and we were met... More

I'm not a big birder, so almost didn't take my daughter on this day trip - but in the end we were both so glad to have visited Asa Wright! So much to see! It's a beautiful drive to get there, and once there, we enjoyed the gorgeous old Asa Wright building and snapped pictures of hummingbirds on the verandah... More

It was like a rally drive to get to Asa Wright Centre but well worth the visit. We had a day visit with lunch which was served in the dinning room with the hotel guests and was good. We spent about 3 hours watching the birds and sat with drinks on the veranda watching all the birds with the staff... More
