The fascinating Mud Volcanoes are located in Piparo. I visited these volcanoes a few years aback and as I recall my experience it was wonderful. This is a site to behold. An active volcano (mud), but quite some distance from port of spain. It took me 1.5 hours from port of spain with a guide. The mud is said to have healing properties - I am surprised that it is not marketed to tourists and spas locally.

The volcano is a nice site to visit........you can even see the volcano bubbling a little.....it is an active volcano too......you can actually feel the heat if you stand close to it....the locals can tell you their experience when it erupted so many years ago....you will hear an interesting story too

This volcano emits a clean, warm grey coloured mud which residence say is good for the skin. I have surely had my share of mud!!! Wonderful and mysterious site. Set to erupt again soon.
