As most yachts travel south to be out of the hurricane belt this is a popular spot. Its a pretty big anchoring spot and has good holding. A few places to buy provisions, fresh fruit and veg, not so many eating places. We stayed a few days, nothing very exciting things going on. Well worth the buss ride into the... More

Arguably my favorite bay so far in the Caribbean. Friendly locals and a place to throw the anchor over and relax in the laid back way only the locals can. If needing metal fabricated see Dominique on his working catamaran in the center of the bay. He is a genius making and fitting a frame for the dinghy, aeriels solar... More

Perfect bay to throw out the anchor and relax for a few days. The pizza is fantastic at The Lazy Turtle and Lumbadive offers great packages for diving. The diving is spectacular and not to be missed. It's a quiet and serene anchorage.

Whilst there are one or two nice restaurants and bars here the general atmosphere is one of drunken yachties. The bay itself is filthy and polluted. Not somewhere I enjoyed

A lovely part of the island. Lots of great places to eat, rent kayaks, bikes, local shops, hikes - or just relax on the beautiful Caribbean beach.

Tyrell Bay is one of the most relaxing and friendly places in the Grenadines. People seem to really work together there, and there's a commitment to protecting the bay and its way of life. We've anchored here many times and our experience has always been delightful. From Arawak Dive to the Slipway and the Lazy Turtle, to the guy who... More

Tyrell Bay is quite lovely, the town itself is small but offers a quiet respite from busy Grenada proper. The Lazy Turtle and Slipways are right on the beach for dinner on the beach. Mooring here is good. There are no sights to see, so a bus ride into Hillsborough is a fun outing and adds greatly to the stay... More

Wonderful safe snorkelling around the edge of the harbour particularly in front of, and to the left of the excellent Lazy Turtle. In places it's snorkelling for non-swimmers!

We stopped in Tyell Bay on a sailing trip - 2 couples on a 44' catamarn. The bay is calm and safe, and we probably would have been there just for a quick overnite but for a mechanical problem. The only hilight was that we ended up eating at the Lazy Turtle - if we'd known about it we would... More
