Our most popular ride is the Nevis beach and trail ride which begins with a walk to the beach through an old coconut grove which was once part of Jamestown, the first capital of Nevis in the 1600's. Close by is Ft. Ashby, the first fort on the island built in 1650. Along the way, you will pass Nelson's Spring, a beautiful lagoon where clipper ships once filled up with fresh drinking water. We continue through Calhoun Estate where you will see Brahma cattle and in the distance, St. Thomas' Anglican Church, the oldest active Anglican Church in the Caribbean (1643). We then return to the beach at Beach Paradise Nevis on Paradise Beach, where we can see the beach at the Four Seasons Resort. From there, we turn east, off the beach to Paradise Estate, once a magnificent sugar plantation where you will see ruins of a sugar mill and, a little farther off, the magnificent estate homes at Four Seasons. Your ride then proceeds through the bush, near the Four Seasons world-renowned golf course. We ride past a typical Nevis home of the 1800's, made completely of cedar shingles, and on through the village of Cotton Ground, which derives its name from the production of cotton in years past. The people of this village are warm and friendly and you don't want to forget the name of your horse because the young children, who know the horses, will question you as to which one you are riding. As we make our return to the stables you will see St. Kitts to the west and the cloud covered Nevis Peak to the east. Just another beautiful day in paradise! Proprietors, The Guilberts, raised Arabian show horses for twenty-five years in California, USA before moving to Nevis in 1994. They opened the Nevis Equestrian Centre in 1996 with daughter, Erika, a trained hunter-jumper rider who conducted therapeutic riding, as a community service, for students with special needs from 1998 until 2009. Her students brought home gold silver and bronze medals from the Special Olympics held in North Carolina, USA in 1999 and from the Special Olympics World Games in Ireland in 2003.

Lovely place and horseback is a wonderful way to see it. Close to the 4 seasons, horseback riding on the beach was new for me and my horse was just perfect for a beginner. Others in my group who took the tour chose more lively mounts and were not disappointed. Something for all experience levels.

Best activity ever in Nevis!! Went with a group of friends and we were all new to horse back riding, but John and his team were very helpful and made us all feel comfortable. The horses are really pretty and friendly, definitely well taken care of by the team! Great price for a long one hour ++ ride with different... More

This was a great experience with a good guide who was a local jockey. Lots of interesting facts about the island along with beautiful views.

Of all the activities my wife and I did while in Nevis, this was our favorite. She is an expert and got a more high spirited horse (Hawk) that suited her while I got (Big Red), the gentle gentleman more fitting my inexperience. John and Navin really know what they are doing matching up the horses and what order to... More

We had a group of 7 with 3 of us riding for the first time. John made us all feel comfortable with his great expertise. The horses were very well behaved and the scenery was just incredible. It was the best experience I had on St Kitts/ Nevis in the 2 weeks I was there.

We were a little anxious about riding a horse for the first time but we were given instructions and we found it pretty easy. A lovely way to see the island, riding through beaches and along the mountains. Be sure to wear a long sleeve tshirt and plenty of sun cream so people were burnt to a crisp.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. You are correct, sun screen is very important to wear while riding. We also suggest that riders wear long pants and an enclosed shoe (with a heel if possible) to protect your feet. Late April and early May seem to be the hottest days of the year for riding - with... I booked reservation for 4/15/2015 at Nevis Equestrian Centre and ended up being the only rider for the morning ride at 10:00 a.m. which turned out to be great. Navin was my guide and he was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I am a novice rider but Navin made me feel very comfortable on my horse. Ride was great on trails,... More

Our teenage girls found this to be one of their favorite experiences in Nevis -- and with so many great things to do and see, that's saying a lot! John and his team are just wonderful, and took great care of us and made sure we all had a fantastic time! His dog accompanying the ride made it an even... More

My wife and I are very amateur horse back riders, the guides and owner made us feel very comfortable. Easy to tell the owners love their horses and their island. Beautiful scenery.
