Romney Manor

Beautiful gardens. Very clean. Loved the gift shop with the Batik prints. The 400 year old tree is stunning.

Romney Manor was a sugar refinery back in the time of Slavery. It has been some what restored showing the way people lived back in those days. First thing you see when arriving is the ruins of the old sugar refinery before you go to the botanical gardens that are on the top of the hill. It is also the... More

Highlighted by a 400 year old Saman tree, these botanical gardens are bursting with gorgeous local plants and trees. Located on top of a hill, some great views can be seen and photographs are not to be missed for views of the entire island. Many birds and lizards are found in the gardens and they are fun to spot and... More

The gardens at Romney Manor are stunning. A very wide variety of tropical plants and gardens, all neatly trimmed and well manicured. Very restful to walk through. The Caribelle Batik store and demo is very interesting. There is a considerable selection of Batik available for purchase. Also a small snack bar. Very nice tour. Self guided.

Visited here during our tour with Grey's Island Excursions. The Romney Manor gardense gardens used to be the sugar plantation & home of Thomas Jefferson's great-great-great grandfather who is buried nearby on the island. The gardens are beautifully maintained & beautiful. There is a 400 yr. old African Saman tree here as well. The Caribelle Batik factory/shop is located here... More

What a surprise this place was! It was so full of history dating back to the early 1600's. Once owned by Sam Jefferson, the great, great, great grandfather of Thomas Jefferson, it was later renamed Romney Manor. The Bell Tower is still there and a 350 yr. old saman tree that is enormous. The botanical gardens are just beautiful with... More

This garden is stunning, it has some of the most unusual plants that I have ever seen. Lucky enough to to spot a Hummngbird. Batik demonstration was good with a great choice of things to buy. A very relaxing place to visit.
