Actually this place was lovely and was interesting to see the dying process although we could have spent a little longer here

Visited here during our tour with Grey's Island Excursions. The Romney Manor gardense gardens used to be the sugar plantation & home of Thomas Jefferson's great-great-great grandfather who is buried nearby on the island. The gardens are beautifully maintained & beautiful. There is a 400 yr. old African Saman tree here as well. The Caribelle Batik factory/shop is located here... More

What a surprise this place was! It was so full of history dating back to the early 1600's. Once owned by Sam Jefferson, the great, great, great grandfather of Thomas Jefferson, it was later renamed Romney Manor. The Bell Tower is still there and a 350 yr. old saman tree that is enormous. The botanical gardens are just beautiful with... More

This garden is stunning, it has some of the most unusual plants that I have ever seen. Lucky enough to to spot a Hummngbird. Batik demonstration was good with a great choice of things to buy. A very relaxing place to visit.

Beautiful local fabric art made into multitudes of cool products from shirts and ties to wall hangings. The grounds are also beautiful.

Interesting to learn about the history - home of Thomas Jefferson's great grandfather. Also home to Caribelle Batik; just love watching the demonstrations of how they make batik fabrics.

The gardens are small and the venue was over-run with cruise ship tourists so it was difficult to see much. There was only a small batik demonstration so the visit was disappointing.

Beautiful gardens and scenery. The batik shop is nice to walk through. I liked watching the ladies make it and walking around the shop looking at all the different patterns and colors. They aren't pushy selling you things too which is refreshing. I didn't use it, but there are restrooms near the gift shop.

Garden was pretty. Would be a great place for a wedding, but in comparison to other gardens it was just average. The batik making demonstration was short and basic, but the gift shop was full of batik. There is a small bar to get drinks.

Beautiful gardens and surroundings with exotic flowers. Saw the ruins of a restored house and we were told that this was the property of the late US President Thomas Jefferson. We saw replicas of beautiful cottages on the acreage. Also on the property is an enormous Saman tree, which is reputed to be as old as 350 years old. We... More
