Lush, serene, interesting grounds with superb collection of unusual trees and plants. An historic spot with a beautiful view and lovely batik shop. Well worth more than a short stop.

The gardens around the area were well kept. And the batik shop was nice. If a woman is looking for that type of clothing, I expect this is the best place to get it.

Beautiful place, rich history! Well worth the time and money. Toured as part of The Best of St Kitts tour, Clay Villa. The whole tour was great. Liked the batik. Every local we encountered was pleasant not pushy.

We've been to St. Kitts before and were looking for some tours off the beaten track. This historical site fit the bill. Unlike most polished presntations, much of what is left is natural and as it was when it was being used to produce rum and sugar. Once owned by Sam Jefferson II, the great-great -great-grandfather of Thomas Jefferson (3rd... More

I could feel the history around me even though the trees and shrubs were very well established they were beautifully kept and flowering abundantly. The working studio with a running commentary on dying the fabric with the amazing designs was very interesting particularly when they were available to purchase in the shop. A wonderful experience.

Hired a taxi to tour Romney Manor. Beautiful gardens and views of Caribbean. Interesting ride through Old Road Town on election day observing locals. Also walked through rainforest and saw sugar plantAtion ruins - all in same location. Enjoy rum punch at Rainforest Bar.

If you're visiting St. Kitts, this is a mandatory stop. The restored ruins of the old plantation's rum-processing plant were interesting, and the walk around the grounds is lovely, but for us, the highlight was the Batik "factory". we didn't actually see a factory, or in fact, anybody producing the batik, but the demo was interesting, and the actual products... We stopped more for the Batik shop, demo, and rest rooms. The grounds were beautiful and there is history to explore. They was an ongoing Batik demo and lots to purchase but it was more expensive than I expected. If it's your thing then stay for hours. Otherwise it's good for a quick stop. No fee to get in that...
