Good place to visit especially if you like the 2 B's Batik and Big trees. There is a 400 year old tree which looks like a small forest if you look up into the branches which sprout smaller vertical limbs like trees. Rainforest walk in Wingfield Forest is cool in more ways than one and affords great views of zip... More

Romney Manor is home of the word famous Caribelle Batik. You can visit the demonstration room and observe the artists illustrating the wax and dye process of Batik making. There are also eight acres of historical ruins, ancient Carib Indian Rock drawings and a nice botanical garden. It's best to take the coastal road to get there since it's tricky... More

Liked the history and the beautiful gardens. You don't need more than an hour, but it is worthwhile.

We stopped at Romney Manor during an island tour that we did while on St. Kitts. The gardens are very beautiful and very well maintained. Our guide explained to us about some of the trees and vegetation which was very informative. We watched the batik demonstrations and learned how the painting of these fabrics are accomplished. There is a great... More

Part of the adventure of the Romney Manor is getting there! Asking directions from locals was not any help. We rented a car and started driving around, starting at the Marriott Resort in Frigate Bay. With the intent to visit Romney Manor and Caribelle Batik, Google took us in the middle of Basseterre, where we drove around, up and down... More

The gardens are lovely, the batik demonstration is brief and informative and there loads of batik clothes and gifts to buy. But it was so crowded........ We made the mistake of visiting when there were 2 huge cruise liners in port. Consequently the place was packed with tour buses and people. On previous visits we had been able to enjoy... More

This is a beautiful historic and picturesque site that must be seen if you visit St. Kitts. Located about 20 minutes outside Basseterre. The Batik demonstration was interesting and brief. The shop was great with many great gifts to select for to bring home. They have small colorful cloth bags that include either soaps, rum, pepper sauce or lavender that... More
