Turtle Beach is beautiful. You have a great view of Nevis. But, there isnt really anything there. You will have to walk. But, in about 20 years, this place will be very nice.

I had read good things about Turtle Beach, so after renting a car in Basseterre, the family and I headed out to the tip of the island. I was very disappointed in what I found. Perhaps there were other areas of the beach that were nicer, but from what I saw, it was covered in seaweed and a bunch of... More

It might have been nice if not for the seaweed. However, cockleshell beach was great. When I am back, maybe the seaweed will be gone.

Turtle beach itself was not that impressive. We were there in July and there was so much seaweed you couldn't walk on the beach. However, we stayed at turtle beach house and it was great. We had great views of the Atlantic and since we couldn't use turtle beach, we went to cockleshell beach ( 5 minute drive) and it... More

In St Kitts the beaches that face the Atlantic side are not good for sun and swimming, they are windy, the waves are high, there are currents and there is seaweed on the beach. However, they are great for Kite Boarding or Windsurfing. I would not recommend this beach, go the S Friar's Bay instead.

First, "Wilbur the pig" is on Cockleshell Bay, not Turtle Beach. Everyone confuses the the two beach areas, but they are completely different in every way. This beach is another half mile down a poorly maintained dirt road that turns to a "moon scape" the last several hundred yards. There is little parking and no facilities save a restaurant that... We rented a villa on the hill above the beach. With all of our sight seeing, we only spend one morning here. It's on the Atlantic side so the waves can get a little rough and there is quite a bit of seaweed so it's not the best place to lay on the beach. However, the snorkeling if great you... More

Well, except for the new charges for beach chairs, this was one of the fun places with Monkeys and Wilbur the pig who has gone to Turtle Beach Heaven. The Reggae Beach Bar is still nice in its new location. The waitresses always remember us and remember my kids. Felito Challenger and I used to hang out here some.

This beach is amazingly scenic. We were on a cruise and just went for the afternoon. Our driver said it wouldn't be packed and he was right. The beach was not over crowded and in fact it felt like it was ours alone. We had a nice beach bed for the afternoon. Relaxed, drank and swam in the amazing water.... More
