Parrot Preserve - A must see is the 180 acre preserve which was established to protect the endemic, endangered Cayman Brac Parrot. There is a two mile nature trail for hiking through the Preserve--a good place to see the beautiful local flora and fauna as well.

Spent the day driving around the island. Caves are definitely worthwhile, but maybe it was the wrong time of year for parrots. Walked to the end of the wooden path and turned back because it was miserably humid with no rewards. Gave it 2 stars because the forest and open caverns were interesting. The best part was seeing the red... More

Drove up and down looking for "Bight Road". It's not a road. It's a path. Since it was REAL hot, my husband dropped me off by the path and he parked up a ways in the designated parking. Didn't see or hear any birds. We were drenched in sweat from the humidity. Just go to the local pet store if... More

Went with a diving buddy. Difficult to find as the sign on the side of the road isn't too noticeable. One walks on a boardwalk as the terrain is extremely difficult to walk on. Saw two parrots. Duration of trip about 15 minutes or an hour if the search is included!

Went looking for this preserve yesterday despite recent reviews that there were no birds. A little into the trail, my husband asked if I wanted to turn back because I was not wearing proper footwear. A few steps in and 4 parrots flew into the branches of some red birch trees. They proceeded to just "pose" for pictures for the... More

This place is a little roadside parking lot. No parrots. Not really worth the trip. You're better off driving to the lighthouse and seeing the booby's (birds).

Went all the way to the end of the decking and didn't see one Parrot...didn't even hear one! Luckily we saw them elsewhere. I'm sure they are around but not when we visited :-(

This is a real treasure. Visiting essentially means walking on the main trail called “Bight Road” (which is nothing like a road) and the nature trail. The Bight Road trail extends north and south of Major Donald Dr. There is no obvious parking lot near the trails, but you can find this just to the east, where there is room... More

Unfortunately, we were not there at the right time of year/day to see the parrots, but a brief hike along the trails proved to be interesting nonetheless. If you are going along the brac (center of island road) note that the trail going south is extremely rough with iron stone and you need boots. Going north there is a wooden... More

The "road" for the Parrot Reserve is actually a trail that you walk along, which is a little confusing if you are looking at a map. It starts out as a wooden boardwalk but quickly turns into a trail of iron shore/lime stone. I use the term trail lightly, as it can only be termed a trail in the sense... More
