Owner description: Parrot Preserve - A must see is the 180 acre preserve which was established to protect the endemic, endangered Cayman Brac Parrot. There is a two mile nature trail for hiking through the Preserve--a good place to see the beautiful local flora and fauna as well.

Went all the way to the end of the decking and didn't see one Parrot...didn't even hear one! Luckily we saw them elsewhere. I'm sure they are around but not when we visited :-(

This is a real treasure. Visiting essentially means walking on the main trail called “Bight Road” (which is nothing like a road) and the nature trail. The Bight Road trail extends north and south of Major Donald Dr. There is no obvious parking lot near the trails, but you can find this just to the east, where there is room... More

Unfortunately, we were not there at the right time of year/day to see the parrots, but a brief hike along the trails proved to be interesting nonetheless. If you are going along the brac (center of island road) note that the trail going south is extremely rough with iron stone and you need boots. Going north there is a wooden... More

The "road" for the Parrot Reserve is actually a trail that you walk along, which is a little confusing if you are looking at a map. It starts out as a wooden boardwalk but quickly turns into a trail of iron shore/lime stone. I use the term trail lightly, as it can only be termed a trail in the sense... More

The wooded path was very easy and restful. Were able to spot a few parrots quickly. Go in the mid to late afternoon for the best chance to see parrots. There is a path across the street that is labeled as a nature trail. It was challenging in some places and did not afford a glimpse of the parrots the... More

You have to either go early or late. We went late but did not see any parrots although I swear we could hear them. The area is not well marked and the map handed out on the island isn't very detailed and it seems some of the road names have been changed or something. There is a large placard along... More

Don't think that coming to Cayman Brac, you won't get some aggressive hiking in! The limestone formations here were interesting, and really chewed up my hiking tennis shoes. But so worth it. Saw 2 parrots, in flight, and fast! Couldn't get a picture, but did see 2 hermit crabs on the trail...awesome!

The elevated platform was excellent for walking but most of the walk is on dolomite and with only trainers a great deal of the walk was spent watching where you were stepping rather than watching the trees for birds. I would definitely go early morning - we went mid morning and saw nothing.

You should make a trip here if you enjoy nature, otherwise, you'll probably be pretty bored. With that being said, the trails are beautiful and the sounds abundant. The parrots are notoriously sneaky to spot so keep in mind that you mind not actually see one (but you'll sure hear them!) The other birds are very playful and if you... More

This was pretty good, but there was more to hear than to see. The ones we saw were gorgeous. They are amusing, and can be pretty silly sometimes.
