Georgetown is a beautiful city, with excellent beaches around (if that's your thing), Good shopping, good snorkeling, and clean streets. In my opinion, however, Stingray City is the absolute "Must do". From what I was told, there is no place like it in the world...at least not in the caribbean. Apparently, over time the stingrays have gotten used to a... More

Georgetown offers shopping, beaches, snorkeling and amphibious tours. The seven mile beach is busy but beautiful. Lots of snorkeling opportunities. For shopping, better prices are found on the other side of the island. Prepare to pay outrageous prices for anything in the port town. Highly recommend the amphibious bus tour. Saw the sights of Georgetown along with shipwrecks and lots... More

This place is just basically a tourist trap for cruise ship travelers. There are plenty of jewelers and souvenir shops. Beyond that there isn't much to offer.

The area really has been developed for the cruise ship people. Luckily we were able to go to George Town when no ships were in and it was absolutely dead. It really just caters to those who want jewelery or souveniers. Really didn't get to learn anything about the Town's history etc.

We have been to Georgetown, Grand Cayman several times, on cruise ships. In the past, we have taken tours, gone to Smith Cove with friends, and just meandered around through the shops. This time, we researched snorkel spots, and were pleased to find several options within walking distance from our cruise ship. When I say walking distance, I mean, about... More

I spent 4 hours birding with Geddes Hislop, and had a superb morning. He knows the birds (and has birded with the best birders on the island), he has access to places off the beaten path you could never find on your own including private properties, and his local knowledge is extraordinary. Intensely curious and very well educated, he has... More

I would especially like to comment on the driver and narrator of our duck boat tour of Georgetown, Grand Cayman Island. The tour left from the Holland America docking site, went around the city, over to the Rum Distillery and then into the water. The driver and narrator were Richard and Mike and they deserve to be singled out for... More

Many times when you cruise the shopping districts are not the nicest areas. In Georgetown it is beautiful. From almost anywhere the blue water is visible. It is a very clean downtown. And the quality of shopping is second to none. Georgetown is a beautiful spot and you can even find good snorkeling just a block or two away.

I visited Georgetown for a shopping trip on a day when there wasn't a lot of ships in port. Very relaxed place to toddle around and "window shop" and grab a few souvenirs for friends/family. The rum cake is a must!! A few places have samples and oh yes a must have treat!! Made my way to the Hard Rock... More

The large cruise ships that visit Georgetown, Grand Cayman use tenders to bring passengers ashore, but this is an efficient and easy process. Georgetown is a very walkable and interesting little town and makes the trip ashore well worthwhile, even if you don't choose to visit their famous beach, turtle farms, or "Hell." The primary souvenir from the island is... More
